Groomers, where do you get shears?

I bought a great pet scissors, a Fromm 11 B groomer, 26 years ago, in St. Paul, Minnesota, for my then cairn. It has been great until the last couple of years with my now cairn. Where can I find a comprable shear? I bought scissors at Sally Beauty Supply, but it does not work that well. I just need a good one to trim feet, tail, face, ears, and the "sanitary". What should I get and where?

Re: occassional paw dragging; should I be concerned?

My 11 1/2 yr. old cairn has been doing this for the past 6 months. His right hind paw drags every 5-7 steps whether he is running or walking. He has one nail that is quite worn down from this. I took him to our vet in August to get it checked. The vet checked his knees, took x-rays, did a neurological test (turned each back foot over and my cairn promptly put it back correctly), and felt all over. My cairn showed no discomfort except for a little bit in his back. My vet does not know what is causing

Re: Talk to me about ACL injuries (Bugsy)

My current cairn terrier tore one ACL at 18 months and tore the second one less than a year later. He would leap off our deck (instead of using the steps) to chase squirrels and then continually leap up against the fence or the trees to "get" them. We had the surgery done both times and I am glad we did. His personality did not change. He recovered well from both surgeries. As an active little dog it was challenging to keep him on restricted activity, but it was worth it. He was confined

Re: Throw me some breed recommendations

My sister has a son who is allergic to most dogs. She got a standard poodle which caused no reaction in my nephew. The standard was such a great dog that they added another one to their home. They are indoor dogs most of the time as well.

Re: What are the top 5 best breeds for allergy sufferers? What are the 5 worst?

As I posted in a similar thread, the standard poodle. My sister has two and one of her sons is allergic to most other dogs. The standards are housedogs, go on vacations with the family, walks, etc. Great dogs!

Re: Do you feed your dog before or after yourself?

I'm so busy in the morning multi-tasking that my dog is fed first. Same for the evening.

Re: Do you let your dog lick you in the face?

Definitely! Unless, of course, he has just caught a rat, eaten a cicada, chewed on a raw bone, eaten a baby dove, or snarfed up a guinea pig poo!
