So, I rescue what they called a Amstaff, but bringing him I really looked at him and now I am confused. Dont Amstaffs run short? But hopefully the pics will help.

Thanks! I love his color, So would you consider him a Amstaf then?

I got him from a couple, They said he is amstaf, he weighs roughly around 60lbs he's not tall, about medium size. What has me confused is that APBT can run similar and since they are cousins I am having a hard time telling if he is Amstaf or APBT...

Hey there, just curious on what is your guys feeding schedules for your dogs. And what are you feeding them!? I wanted to get some new ideas and possibly add them to Rugers diet. This is Rugers schedule and what I feed him. I feed him @ 12pm everyday, basically lunch for us, and this is his schedule. Monday/Wensday/Friday - Kibble mix(Kirkland Lamb/Rice /w Innova EVO Red Meat) /w some wet food (Kirkland Chicken/Rice or California Natural Chicken/Rice I rotate it) and I also mix a little bit of beef

Now I see that a lot of you are feeding your dogs multiple times a day, of course spread out. I only feed my boy once a day but it is a high caloric meal though. Do you guys think I should feed him twice a day? Or leave it as it is

I know its an old thread but since I own an Akita I have to say, WOW at all these negative comments about Akita's. Yes, they are a strong breed but if you have a good head on your shoulders you can own one. My boy is the biggest goofball, loves to play with my kids, protects my 8mth old boy, Snuggles with our cats and is great with the neighbors. Once again, having a good head on your shoulder is key, be stern and they will know thier place... Stop with the Akita hating!!!!

[quote user="lulu pixie"] I have found that my dog was having skin issues, I thought is was the cedar bed she was sleeping on. She was losing her hair on her back in a small area, then it spread more and more. My vet said that I needed to increase the fat in my girls diet to help with her coat. I found a product on line called Doggy Dollars and bought in from Costco.com, my girl loves these more than anyother treat I have given her. They are all natural and are high in good fats from the

Hey srry to hear about your dog. I sorta went through the same but it wasnt medicine induced. My Ruger after having his operation lost some serious weight. He is normally around 112, he drop down to 84. I was concerned so I talked to my vet and he said try some homecook meals. I looked online for recipes and came up with Fatty Balls, Basically meatballs with peanut butter/olive oil/sweet potato ect. ect. everything that would put weight on your boy, I had him on that and his kibble and saw immediate

Hey there, I hope this makes sense. I dont look at whats the best food out there! But whats the best food out there that my dog can handle! LOL. Ruger has been on Kirkland for the longest of time, then I added Innova EVO Red Meat to put in protein in his diet. He did well and loves it. I slowly changed the kibble to the wellness and wow, he does not like it at all, he tried it and got gas, icky poop the works. So I put him back on his mix of kirkland and EVO. So yeah, its all about what your dog

Totally agree with you. I have some friends that after hearing that so and so brand is the best they immedietly go out and buy it, Dog doesnt like it but they insist on feeding it to them because its labeled the best. I try telling them that the best brand is the brand your dog can handle the best. There are a lot of great brands out there, but not all of them are for your dog. This site probably been posted many times before, but it works wonders. It shows almost all the brands and has great reviews
