- What I want you to know about me

Zoe is a sweet and loyal friend of 12 years. She has been me through happy times, illnesses, my parents' death and many dark days that followed. She's a great comfort in my empty nest days now.
She loves me whether I'm grubby in my robe, or dressed to kill. She's always happy to see me come home and sad to see me leave.
She's getting old though. She's grey around her muzzle. She doesn't see as well as she used to, and sometimes she is ready to head to the house and a nap after our walk.

Zoe has a special places on our loveseat, next to me. But she won't get up on it unless there is a blanket for her to lay on. Spoiled?
- Here's what happened when I first met my family

I fell in love, or was it the other way around. I went to see the litter of new beagles. She wouldn't leave my side so I knew she was the one.
- Things I like

1. pretending to chase rabbits and squirells. She will wake me up to let her out if she 'senses' one in the backyard. Then she runs at it until it runs off, then she sniff and sniffs making that baying noise that beagles do.

Science diet dog treats. I don't feed her from the table, except she gets the last small bite of my supper. She knows and waits for it then goes and eats her supper.

an de-stuffed squirrel
WILL NOT play with anything that makes a noise! Why do so many toys have squeekers in them? I have to open up the toy and remove the squeeker, then prove to her that it doesn't make a noise before she will play with it.
- The tricks I do best

Tricks? What do you think she is - a dog?
Actually my son taught her to stand on her back legs and spin around for a treat. He calls it her "sassy jig". Her sassy jig isn't as sassy as it was when she was younger, but she'll still do it for him when he comes to visit.
