- What I want you to know about me
-
Mini is an exceptional dog. She seems to have had an incredibly horrible beginning of life, which is a mystery to us. But she is so loving and accepting. I never thought she would be able to be happy or normal. Everyday she is getting better, everyday she is closer to normal. She has taught me so much about forgiveness and love.... She needs us, but I think that I equally needed her, so i like to think that we kind of saved each other. I know all of that is very cheezy. I am very glad that she was able to join our family!
- Where I live
-
We currently live in an apartment in TN, and for a more active dog our home would probably be much too small. But for Mini, it is perfect. She is perfectly content to stay in the same room most of the day and sleep throughout it most of the time. We have only a small closeknit group of friends we occasionally hang out with, so she is able to enjoy a quiet household. I think she is really happy with her home now. I'm interested to see how she is when we buy a house soon though.
- Here's what happened when I first met my family
-
We adopted her from a lady we met on craigslist. I couldnt justify buying a puppy from a breeder while so many in our area were getting put to sleep everyday just for not having an owner. I'm sure Mini would have been the same way, especially with her condition. We knew before we got her that she had been abused by her first owners and because of that she was extremely timid and especially timid of men. After a few days we realized that the abuse had scarred her much further than that and I wond
- Things I like
-
She loves to sleep!!! She loves to play with either me or my husband, which is a new thing to her. She is learning to play finally, and its really nice to see her having fun. She adores my husband! I wake up almost every morning to find that she has crawled up next to him and she's normally holding his arm while he pets her. She loves to cuddle on the couch and, this is a bit odd to me, she absolutely loves to be really warm. Like bundled up in a blanket warm. And she would do anything for pean
- Things I don't like
-
Anything new. or loud. She does not like strangers, especially men. She still jumps at loud noises sometimes, and she does not like being scolded in the least way which makes her very easy to train. And a weird dislike, she doesnt like it when you say the word "woof" to her. Just woof, not "grr" or "arf" or whatever. she will try to lick you or do anything to get you to stop. I think it irritates her like being blowed on.
- My favorite food
-
Ol' Roy kibbles chunks and chews (i think thats the name). And peanut butter and milkbones for treats. Against my wishes, my mom won her over with peices of beef jerky.
- My favorite toy
-
Her smoked bone. She carries that thing around and sleeps with it and everything like its her most treasured object.
- My favorite walk
-
she's not fond of long walks, she is scared of too much. But i let her sniff out the whole yard at our apt complex. That way she can get used to sounds and cars and people. Its helped a lot.
- The tricks I do best
-
she only knows four or five so far, but she knows them well. Sit, lay down, hug, and crawl. My husband made one up for when theyre playing. "Go get momma". When he says that, she will run to me from wherever they are playing. Its so cute.
