I meant to buy Musher's Secret for the dogs' feet, then saw that they stock Bag Balm right next to it. Turns out that Bag Balm, at half the price of Musher's Secret, is nearly identical and does the same job, that is, keeps the dogs from getting ice balls between their toes and helps insulate them from the cold snow.
And it comes in a pretty box. :o)
I used to put bag balm on the cows I milked. Yes, folks, I used bag balm for exactly what it was invented: to put on cows' udders so they wouldn't get chapped.
So when I got home the weather had warmed up again, and the dogs didn't need it. The first place I used bag balm was on MY feet! The winter always dries my feet out something awful. It's great. If you have hard callouses or dry, cracked skin, bag balm is the way to go.
One of these days it will be -25 again and the dogs will get some on their feet. Until then, I'm using it on my feet.
