Yapping Pomeranians

I have worked hard to teach my Poms not to bark unless alerting to a stranger or danger; Pomeranians are prone to be yappers but it is to some degree a learned behavior and once one Pom starts the others will surely join in.  Since I breed Pomeranians, I wanted my puppies not to be taught to bark in excitement by the older Poms.

First I had to control the barking of my older Poms; I decided to fill a spray bottle that I could adjust to a stream instead of a mist with water.  I used this spray bottle to spray my Poms whenever they barked unless it was appropriate to do so.  It took a little while but they have learned not to be yappers and we are all much happier.

People who have bought my puppies also tell me that they are not big yappers and they are very pleased wth my training and socialization.
