- What I want you to know about me
-
She was dropped off on my grandfather's farm. He put an add in the newspaper in case she was lost. No one ever responded. It looked like she'd had puppies so we figure the person who had her kept the puppies and through her out. My grandfather tried find her a home (he even offered to pay for her spay) but no one wanted her. She stayed at his barn and he would always say things like, "I gotta feed the Pooch", "I gotta check on the Pooch", I gotta get the Pooch to get out of the rain." Well she ended up thinking Pooch was her name. My other dog Blaze had to go to the barn for awhile because we moved and couldn't take her (I was 16 and no one cared if I didn't think it was right). Once I was able to have Blaze back I didn't feel it was right to leave Pooch there by herself, so she came too and completely adopted my DH. We were gonna name her Oreo but we were afraid it might confuse her so we just left her be Pooch.
- Where I live
-
Same as Blaze
- Here's what happened when I first met my family
-
We used to go out to visit Blaze and walk around the farm w/ her. I felt it wouldn't be right not to walk Pooch too. The poor thing was so out of shape she could only walk 5 minutes before she'd start snorting and being out of breath. DH would pick her up and carry her the rest of the way.
- Things I like
-
She adores DH. She loves having her belly rubbed. But if he calls her, it doesn't matter what your doing w/ her she goes straight to him. And if she's with him she will completely ignore everything else, even food. If she's out and he goes out the door, she'll lay down against the door waiting for him to come back.
- Things I don't like
-
Being brushed. Even if she doesn't have mats or tangles, she hates to be brushed. She also doesn't like to see the bigger rough house too much. We call her the 'Ref' because she'll run around them in circles barking. She's even interceded on behalf of the beagle. Dusty was kinda being picking on so Pooch ran and headbutted the other dog in the side to get them away. Then she just looked at them and snorted, like, "go ahead, try something again."
- My favorite food
-
Beneful. When we were in the process of switching her she would actually pick the Beneful out (one kibble at a time) and leave the Pedigree behind.
- My favorite toy
-
She's not too interested it toys. She'll chew on flavored rawhide-type stuff but that's it.
- The tricks I do best
-
We're trying to get her to 'dance' which is where she'll stand on her back legs and spin. She'll get up on her back legs and start to turn but then she drops down again.
