  • The past week

This week went by very quickly, with appointments almost daily and lots of things to do. I got a sunburn yesterday which was no fun, not to mention I got bit by one of the snakes. A corn snake of all things! Never, ever would expect that, guess thats why you can't predict what an animal will do 100% of the time. I had to eat my words after just talking about each ones personalities and such.

Yesterday it didn't seem so hot (upper 70s and breezy) so I guess I didn't even noticed I was getting burned. At least the dogs had fun as usual. I measured around the chicken coup and such because we are putting up a fence around the rabbit/chicken fences. So I marked off where that outer fence will be and Shauna will have that to sleep at night. It will have an area that is 26x38 for her and then 6ft in between the inner, outer fence and coup and outer fence for the rest. I think next week that should be done.

Ryu has made a game for herself when in her kennel, climbing up between the fence and house to the top of the house, jumping off then doing it over again. I need to put a top on it, she will be out of there soon, good climber like her mom. She already jumps over 4ft and hangs in the corner so it won't take much for her to hang and realize she can climb out. She is about 19lbs now, Alchemist has really shot up being almost 22lbs, I think he will probably start to out grow Zara soon she was 23lbs last check.

I think Jaxon is realizing what a female is, well they've all been a little nutty since having one come in heat but he is just now really maturing. He has to sniff everything and slap his lips and jaw together and even drool a bit. He is doing it way more then anyone else and the sniffing is crazy everywhere. He has been marking too, just little bit here and there. It is funny how good aim some have or other times annoying actually.

I can't wait to get to another show, wanted to this month guess it will be at least a month. I'll have to start getting them ready soon enough though, a couple weeks most likely. I know that will go by fast too.

I'm pretty excited today as I found out our half brother dog (same Dad different Moms) took 1st at the show yesterday, I don't have an update yet for today but sure hope he got something today too. It was his first show, I'm so proud! He was more or less going to be my pick. He looks similar to Jaxon but lighter color and more filled out.

  • This crazy fast week

I've been so busy lately but its summer, time to get into shape and be busy right!

So the past few days have been a blur as usual just go too fast. I spent a couple days putting up a kennel and I strained my neck, it is terrible because I can't do much movement. We've got another to get some panels and weld up but that will be so much easier and faster!I didn't walk the dogs today they only got to play outside, I couldn't do very much training either, basically my neck is stiff. I can't even look left, right or nod. No poop pick up either since I can't look down. Even feeding them and picking them up hurt. I hate it. I had to go in and get them some meat today too so I could feed everybody tonight. I started a new thing with Jaxon yesterday and today he seems to have got it. When I let him out in the morning he has to sit at the top of the stairs, then again midway down the stairs at the turn and today he did it with only a couple times that I had to repeat to him to stay. Before he would sit and stay until I got like 2 steps away from him then try to run down. Now he has got it that he must stay until I tell him to come to me. He is much better at stay when not on the steps but he has a short attention span so it takes lots of time to work with him in short sessions and make it fun, lots of praising but not too much to get him overly excited.

Yesterday I put Jaxons ecollar back on after training and walking because I noticed he had been licking on his leg, he made it red and irritated. I want it to heal up (duh) would have been there I think if he didn't lick it. Today it was looking so much better! Just over last eve and night no more red, irritation and it looks pretty fused together. I will probably take out the stitches tomorrow or tues, not sure. I'm going to take his lip ones out tomorrow though, just not sure on his leg since he is so hyper. I hope for him to do as good or better then at his last show so bad! We have time to get full recovery or close I think. He did excellent on his training, he is basically more responsive now. I think sometimes when going for a walk he needs a few minutes to calm down and then he will heel and he will get all the turns down spot on. He will do the loose lead walking with no pulling or trying to run.

Alchemist would not leave Bouwho alone. She likes to play with him but sometimes she just wants to be left alone inside and outside kind of run around herself and do whatever she does, sniff grass, jump and fly through the air and he runs and jumps right into her. What is his obsession with her.

The day before that I think it was I walked Bouwho and Santana together, first time for that. I always try to do a couple pair walks to make it go faster but first for those 2. Santana of course did fine but Bouwho would walk correctly a little bit then cross over to the right and run her muzzle into Santana's rear/thigh who paid her no mind. It was just a pain to keep correcting her to stay on the left. I think if I walk her more with another we'll she'll catch on that she still needs to stay on the left and just walk. Alchemist did not want to go on a walk, he never likes walks. I need to get Vipette a new harness so she can work some more in weight pull, I might pull Jaxon or Bouwho too. Not real sure. I might so some bitework or sport with Vipette it all just depends. I'm not sure what she really likes best because she likes a few things so much. I hope I feel better in a couple days that is for sure. I will only take a 3 week conditioning period for Bouwho before next show but need to find out when the dates will actually be and prepare. Nediva looks excellent on her own as always but I want to have her in tip top next time! I might put Five in for another male I don't know though. Him and Jaxon would be competition not that I mind at all be fun. I've been just playing and exercising him for fun, then doing short training sessions which he seems to retain everything, he doesn't need a lot of work. He gets his training after the first or 2nd time you teach him something and doesn't forget and can move onto something else. Really he is similar to his mom because sometimes I swear he just learns what it is I said or already knows somehow like he understands me perfectly.
