    Pedi-Paws

:( I always wanted to buy it off the tv but said it would eventually be in stores well it is I bought it for $19.99 I did what it said introduced it to my dogs they hate it they wouldn't stay still I couldn't even use it on them. I guess if it didn't make noise they would of been better but they looked horrified when I turned it on hopefully the store will let me return it I didn't use other then buy batteries and turn it on. Anyone else bought it? Having any luck???

    Re: Pedi-Paws

I don't know what a pedi-paw sounds like, but my peticure arrived yesturday.

two of my  dogs are groomed regularly. One was afraid of it, the other didn't care. I think it reminded Bailey of clippers, which he hates.

Max the westie, has never been to the groomers. He was afraid of the sound too, so I turned it on and gave him a treat. After a few repetitions, he would come running whenever I turned it on. Next I treated for letting me touch his paws with it, not the grinder, just a plastic part.

I'm not going to rush using it, and risk having a $30 paperweight.

I use a regular Dremel to grind my dogs' nails, and use it on the dogs I groom. It is something they have to be conditioned to. My puppy will stand for me to grind all of her nails, and I usually ask my older dog to lie on her side (she has arthritis in her left hip, and holding the foot up bothers her. Laying down eliminates that tension). This took months of conditioning. They were both conditioned to having their nails clipped, first. Then, I did as racuda is doing with her puppy and slowly got them used to it.

Like everyone else is stating, it sounds like you are not taking it slow enough.

I think when it comes to grooming us humans sometimes fall into the old well our dogs should think and know what us humans know, mindset.  Try to put yourself in their paws.  Imagine if your friend suddenly came up to you with a strange looking powertool you had never seen before.  Then they suddenly flicked the switch and it starts to make all sorts of loud noises.  The next thing you know they are grabbing your hand and wanting to stick your finger in some strange hole leading into the machine without telling you what on earth is going to happen to your finger.  My guess is you probably wouldn't be to keen on letting them have your hand either.

You just have to give your dogs some time to learn that the evil machine isn't going to gobble them up but will result in praise and treats instead.

I have no experience with Peticure (the one on TV) but someone brought a Pedi-Paws into the shop yesterday. It is very low powered and would take forever to do a medium sized or big dog's nails. It is slow on small dogs even, so part of the issue could be how long it is taking? Or they won't even let you try it? I'd suggest returning it because, even if you get them to except it it just doesn't seem powerful enough IME.

I took it slow I still haven't didn't return it yet even had treats they had the sound so today I went and had someone else cut there nails $15 for all 3 of them but was hoping with pedi-paws I could do it on my own, they just hate the sound they are fine until I turn it on they get out of my grip and run into their room Guess I'll just get their nail done and return the item.
