A sure sign Fall is here

The girls have started digging again Stick out tongue. The dastardly squirrels come and bury pecans in the grass, sniffing ensues, each hole starts nicely with a little nose dip and before you know it .... they are going to China !

Now that DH is done with the backyard for the week, it is time for the "mishmash" patrol. Filling with topsoil, tamping and pouring the "mishmash" concoction on top - very simple recipe but you do not want to know the details. Ick! .

Fortunately, this usually stops them for a good week; not only do they not return to the old holes, they also avoid creating new ones.

So off I go, put my rubber gloves and rubber boots on. This is about the only time I wish I had a very stuffy nose !

Bugs digs for moles (yea I know old news) but he really outdid himself today.  He dug the Panama canal Surprise It was in an area there is mole activity and now I've got a 15ft long trench - about 3-4 inches wide Super Angry

The good thing about fall is that I can buy seed and start reseeding some of his 'work areas'

Is Fall the reason? I don't know seasons in Florida, so I had no idea it's considered 'Fall' right now. Pirate dug himself a hole to China last night - I was mad but then his little white face was all black with dirt, LOL, and I just laughed.

To me, Fall starts when I can go in the yard around 6 am in shorts and T-shirt and .... not sweat  ! To the girls, when nuts appears in the grass, so yeah, it is Fall.

From what I see, I am lucky the girls are "seasonal" diggers and not to have moles (lizzard hunting replaces it quite well, my patio screens take a beating every year).

This is Ari's first fall - and her obsession is with the falling leaves!  That sounds cute, unless you happen to be the one holding the leash Confused

Plus with the cooler weather she wants to just be outside 24/7!

Proudly owned by Ari a 5 month old flat-coated retriever! Stick out tongue

Max is coming in from the back yard with leaves stuck to his feet and his hair.  Our neighbors tree hangs over our fence and drops both leaves and sap so they all stick to him ... and the carpet where he drags them in.
