    The new boy!

Meet our new kitty (assuming all goes well with initial intros tomorrow or Tuesday). :)

    Possible names are:

    • Breean (bree-an)
    • Landmonster (from the Simpsons)
    • Ceiling (Cat)
    • Monorail (Cat)

    Suggestions are also welcome. :)

He's totally comfortable and relaxed like this:

    Fascinated by the broom:

He does have a tail, I just couldn't manage to get a pic of it lol.

If Greebo had been a ginger male I would have called her Carrot Smile

He's gorgeous!  I like Landmonster but I REALLY like Carrot.  I really hope the introductions work well.

    Re: The new boy!

lol at Carrot.  I am leaning toward continuing to name cats after plants/flowers in honor of my family's last cat, Snapdragon.  New potentials are: Basil, Celyn (kell-in), Aspen, Bryony, Maple,Saffron, and Rue.

Saffron would work well except it sounds like a girls name Smile

I'm sticking to Carrot.  Plant, root vegetable, it's not that huge a leap!

Orange cats are the best. They are such confidant lovebugs!

I have my Boris the *glorious warrior*, lol.

I also had a female that looked just like your cat!  She was my childhood cat.  Her name was Nala.

Aww so many cute orange cats! :)  DH came up with another name possibility: 3.14159 aka Pi (for short) - can you tell he's an engineer?! lol

Pi would be sort of good.... then you could call him Pumpkin Pi  Smile

I had a orange kitty called Marmajuke  but he disappeared Sad

Wow, he's gorgeous!  I love those big eyes!  I don't know why, but as soon as I saw the first picture, Oscar came to mind.

    Re: The new boy!

Well I unpacked some more boxes so that I could set up the cat pen we'l be using for the first few weeks when Rue/Pi can't be supervised.  This is not your average crate as you can see in the pics - it's an expen I bought for Maggie a while back and it's 6.5ft long and over 3 ft tall/wide. :)

Rue/Pi has been staying in a large crate with a hammock with his 2 brothers for the last few weeks while being treated for an Upper Respiratory Infection so this space should feel huge to him.  The eventual hope is that he can be left loose in my office when people aren't home and loose in the house when they are, but until he figures out the rules and feels comfortable with the dogs, he'll be staying in the pen during the day.
