    Re: your dog(s) and zoomies

My ten year old cairn does zoomies after cooling off in his wading pool, after a bath, and sometimes a short zoomie after eating breakfast.  Outdoor zoomies come with gutteral growls and periodic digging spins (done at the same time) behind bushes and then racing to another spot to repeat the procedure all with a wild happy smile on his face as he runs.  Indoor zoomies involve carrying his favorite toy, a screeching stuffed chimp, as he races around.

Dub doesn't get them often usually when we haven't been able to exhaust him enough due to the weather.  It is usually before bedtime and he has extra energy to expel.  Our rooms are so broken up that he can't really get going very well.  He does a .jump on the bed, race down the hall to leap over the large foot stool in the loft then jump onto the sofa spilling cushions everywhere and back again while growling and barking madly.  That lasts less than five minutes and he will pass out on the mess of pillows and cushions he left in his wake!

JAX RIP 03/16/07 Run free my beautiful man
