I had a possum problem last year. I thought the cat had gotten in the house so I looked and instead it was baby possum. I threw a towel over it and put it in a crate. It was dark out so I waited till the next morning to let it go, plus I wanted to show JJ and possibly keep it.
Yes I know wild animals arent ment to be pets but it was a baby and I have a weakness for baby animals.
Anyways I took it to the barn the next morning, opened the door, and left it. We dont use the barn for anything but tractor and riding mower storage. That night I'll be danged if I didnt find another possum in the house. Once again I caught it and let it go. Next night it came back. Catch and release happened again but this time a mile down the road. Errr and the very next night there it was again. I didnt want to catch it in Samantha's room so I had to let Cheyanne take care of it for me. I tried to give it a chance but I had to think about my daughter's safety in the end. I know it was the same possum because after I had Cheyanne get it out of the house for me I never had any more possums.
Dumdog Cheyanne learned how to possum hunt because I had chickens when living with my parents. Possums do not belong in a chicken coop or house!!!
