I've had the opposite experience with Pilates, Liesje. I'm doing Pilates about every other day and I'm amazed at the results. It's simple, I didn't have to buy anything, I do it right on the floor with a blanket, and I have exactly one book that I use. Of course, I'm starting at rock bottom when it comes to conditioning - I was a mess. But I went from not even being able to sit up without pushing myself up, to being able to do abdominal curls, in just a few weeks. It helps my breathing, my posture, and my stamina, and I'm more relaxed overall. It's even helped my dog training because I feel more balanced all the time.
