Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

    wohoo. No work tomorrow.

I left all 5 dogs out of their crates when I came to work today. That's a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe they'll surprise me though. Poor Dakota was sitting at the back door waiting for her to take me with her. Maybe I'll bring her back with me after lunch. She doesn't sit still well though in strange places.

I got my hot tub moved last night to the mechanic can come look at it.

We got SOOOOOO much rain last night. man. This year must be a record. A couple of weeks ago, Ludington, (a city on Lake MI) got 12 inches of rain in 1 hour. It washed out roads and flooded everything. We are under a flood watch now ourselves. Water water every where.

Yes, it is consider it Friday, Thursday for me too!  DH somehow got Monday off too, WTH??? Oh, well, Willow will be happy.

Well, I walked, I hiked, I did all my morning stuff now off to get ready for a 10 hour shift.  My friends daughter is seriously hurt in the hospital after an accident on Sunday so I'm trying to cover half of her shift and still do all of mine.

    Have a great day everyone!

Re: Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

Aw Julie, you got me all excited....I thought it really was Friday.  *sniff*

I managed to get every single dish in my house clean yesterday!  I even washed down the outside of my stove.  It was looking kind of grungy.

It looks like it might be a nice day out today.  Maybe I'll let the kids play in the kiddy pool in the yard if it really gets warm.  Yesterday was pretty cold.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday with the doctor that cross covers for my doctor.  I am soooooo glad she's not my regular doctor.  This is how my whole appointment went.

Wait in room for 15 minutes.(no biggie, sometimes I wait for Dr. Dove for that long)
    Enter Doctor.
    Dr. :  I'm Dr. Kehler(in mumbled tones)
    me :  Hi.
Dr. :  Dove's ur regular doctor?(again in mumbled tone)
    me :  Yes...
Silence while she glances at my chart for a minute or two.
    Dr. :  Baby's movin ok?
me :  Oh ya, she moves alot!
    After another long pause...
    Dr. :  Ur ok?
me :  Um for the most part, except I had some major bad cramping yesterday...
Dr. :  Oh...(long pause) K get on there...(indicating that I should get on the table)
She measured my belly, felt around and then listened to the heartbeat all in complete silence.  Said a clipped word that sounded like Ok and turned around leaving me to try to heave my butt off the table on my own.  (Dr Dove always always gives me a hand up...guess I took that for granted.) I get up, and go and sit back down.  She turns her head from the computer to look at me.
    Dr. :  OK...
    me :  Oh, we're done?
Dr. :  Ya...(in a wonderfully soothing holier than thou voice)

And that was it.  Sooooo glad I had to have that one appointment with her.   Dr Dove thought it would be a good idea if I met her, in case she was the one there when I went in to deliver.  I've decided however that if its her, I'm just gonna wait.

    Water water every where.

Please send some our way. We could really use it.

I walked up to my office building this morning and there's a dead skunk lying on the sidewalk by the door into my office. Fortunately, there's only a tiny bit of odor. I never realized how beautiful their fur is. It's just a little bitty thing too. Made me sad and wondered what makes a skunk just die in the middle of a sidewalk Hmm. I called AC to come pick it up.

Yay - I'm so glad this is the last day of the week!!!!

Sounds like someone needs to go back to school for some bedside manner lessons!  WOW!  I would have said something on my way out, in a helpful, constructive way of course.

I thought that DH was coming home today so I was surprised and alarmed when the dogs went nuts at 11 PM last night.  It was a nice surprise since he did the morning walk today.

I am planning on making a large investment in mosquito repellant this weekend.  When I did a quick block walk with the dogs last night I got 6 major bites and I'm not a happy camper today!  Other than that - it's the last work day of the week for me and I am sooooo glad!  Last weekend was really busy and I need to veg for a bit.

Re: Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

YOU GUYS can consider it Friday - *I* have to work all weekend. Hmf.

I really wish my boss would get our direct deposit straight - I haven't gotten paid in like, a month. My cable bill is past due, my utilities are past due, my cell phone/car ins are due next Friday...*sigh* I haven't gone grocery shopping in two weeks, and I didn't even get BF a birthday present. Then I get down on myself for being so broke, but it's not that I'm broke, I'm just not getting PAID!

I'm a grouch today. Watch out world.

Meg, you should realllly look into that!  Seriously, tell your boss to write you a cheque that you can deposit.

When I first started working for the lawyer here, she would ask me to hold my cheque every once in a while, and I said fine, well she got used to it, and at one point I had 13 pay cheques!  (I get paid weekly)  Finally I said no, and I told her I was depositing all of them.  She no longer asks me to hold them.

I bet your boss is getting paid, right?  Well you have bills and such to pay too and she will have to realize that and fix it

Yeah, it's not really her *fault* - we use Bank Of America and she'll authorize the checks to go through, but BoA sends it back as an 'error'. We can't manage to get an English-speaking person on their customer service lines either. If there isn't any money in there by Friday I'm going to ask her to write me a check for all of my back payments. I gotta pay my bills!

Erm, Candace, I dunno if you can decide when you have babies. I've never done it myself, but that's what I hear :)

Thank goodness I have a long weekend coming up - today has sucked!!  We're evaluating dogs for the kid's camp coming up and two young dogs have had major resource guarding issues; that means automatic euth in a shelter that has to euth for space as it is. Sad  I tell myself that it's good we caught it so no one gets hurt taking something away from the dog, but it sure does suck to write that note on the individual dog's card...

That would be hard to do.  I'd cry I think.  Still, technically speaking it is a good thing you caught it.  Besides someone getting hurt, it could have some severe consequenses for the shelter and the other non resource guarding dogs would pay the price.

Re: Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

I am seriously going to lose it today at work.  I am getting so tired of being treated like crap by the two girls I work with.  This afternoon we all go upstairs to have lunch and the lawyer phones (this was at 12) and wants me to do some revisions to a document, no problem.  So while my lunch grows cold, I was working on this document.  Then I hear them finish their lunch.  One would think one might come over and say "hey, want me to take over so you can have lunch?" nope.  Instead, they go down to the other's office and talk.  At 1:30 I was finished the first part of the revisions, then I had the other girl asking when the documents and such would be finished so she could leave with them.  Not, "hey, it looks like you are running around a lot, can i help?"  nooo way!  So i finally finish the documents, I have the lawyer phoning me every 5 minutes giving me more and more things to do, more things she needs the other girl to bring to her.  2pm comes and goes.  The other girl goes.  Fine.

The lawyer is still phoning giving me more things to do.  The other girl left does nothing.  Doesn't offer, nothing.  I am super busy, she doesn't answer the phone.  Well I don't either, I am racing back and forth.

Then!  The lawyer, (just 10 minutes ago) phones and she can tell I am at my breaking point, so she asks for the girl that's here, I buzz her phone, nothing, so I tell the lawyer I will phone her back after I locate her, the lawyer wants to dictate an offer to settle.  I go downstairs, OH SHE HAS LEFT FOR THE DAY with no word, with NOTHING.

I am starting to really badly reach my mental breakdown state.  I can't deal with this stress of them and of this job, I am constantly getting hammered with work, I have stacks upon stacks on my desk at all times, whenever I am out of the office they phone my cell phone non stop asking questions.  Hell, the lawyer didn't even want me to take vacation time!  And at first I offered to only take mondays and fridays so I wuold only be out of the office once a week, but after she hesitated about that, I took a whole week off!  (next week)  though I know I will be bombarded with phonecalls and emails.

The problem is, is if I leave here there is no way I will make near as much money as what I do here.  I am very very well paid and looking at another raise in the next couple of weeks, which will be retroactive from May.  But I don't think my brain can take it.

Sorry for my long rant, I am just so stressed and so close to breaking down into tears I had to get it out somehow

Re: Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

I got up early today and went for a walk. My neighbor and another friend joined me. For some odd reason Cheyanne didnt tag along with us. She never turns down going for a walk. But in the end I was glad she stayed home. At the end of our walk where we turned around to head back home a Pit Bull decided she was gonna join us. Lillie didnt know what to do with a dog that actually was big enough to play with her. She was a gorgeous blue and white with a big slobbery tongue to kiss everyone with. My friend though started high tailing it out of there once she saw the dog. She is afraid of big dogs. But Sugar, found out her name, caught up with her and won her over. I wanted to take her home!!

We are going to a cookout and some fireworks tonight.

Re: Mindless Chatter - Consider it Friday!

I wish tomorrow was not a holiday, because my classroom is a disaster.I spent about 6 hours in it today trying to get it straightened out, and it still needs tons of work to get things in order. I found all sorts of mystery items that I am wondering how or why they were being used with the kids I'm getting. I seriously gave away at least 100 papers of tracing letters, and there is a whole lot more stuff. One of the teachers before me actually had a bin labeled busy work. I'm going to have to ask on Monday, if I go home after school to take Max out then come back, how long will it be before they kick me out of the building.
