Have any groomers here heard of "schnauzer tail" (a type of skin disease)?

I'm asking because my 5 year-old terrier mix had a scab on her tail and my groomer shaved it down and around so it could heal. And it seemed to. And then, when I took her to the vet for an urrelated issue, he mentioned it and called it "schnauzer tail" and told me to get some anti-pimple cream and apply it to her tail.

Does this sound normal? I've Googled it and can't find anything out there.

I've never head of "Schnauzer tail", but "Schnauzer bumps" is common groomer lingo for the little zits this breed aquires when their undercoat hasn't been carded-out out properly. The skin pore becomes clogged and irritated when this excess dead hair isn't removed, and a little sore appears. But that isn't just on their tail, it's all over the place, so it may be something totally different. My Poodle has "stud tail" where he loses the hair at the base of his tail, but from what I understand it's not serious or truly treatable. Nothing like pimples. Sorry, I'm not being very helpful.

That's exactly what she has. I wonder what I can do to help out her tail there? Her hair is so thick around her tail (and back of her hind legs) that it's hard to even gt to her skin.

Thank you for responding and filling me in here. Hmm--now I'm stumped as to what I ought to be doing. The vet called it pimples, so I know you're right.

Schnauzer Comedome Syndrome (schnauzer bumps) can't be cured, but as Jacob said, carding the coat  (like using the furminator) prior to clipping or carding it frequently if you don't clip at all, will help to open up the hair folicles and allow the shampoo's to clean them out. Benzoyl Peroxide shampoo's are perfect for this and can be found through veterinarians or if you can get a groomer to order some for you through Davis Manufacturing  Doing these things will help to lessen the outbreaks.
