I've developed a new worst habit... leaving cupboard doors open.

LOL! Apparently I do that too. I really don't see what the big deal is though. Hmm

You'll realize what the big deal is when you walk into one, esp. in the dark, or you stand up and hit your head on the corner of one.  That's how I learned to break that bad habit.  Wink

My bad habit is sticking stuff in drawers or closets without organizing it just to clear clutter.  Then I can't find something without taking everything out.  Or else it is crammed full enough it's like one of those trick jars of peanut butter with the springy snake thingy inside - you open it and it flies up in your face and all over the floor.

    Re: Bad Habits

I'm a procrastinator and a picker too, but according to DH I'm also a loud cell phone talker. It's the only thing he's ever complained about me doing, and I don't realize I'm doing it.

But the cabinet doors thing...uggghhh!!! DH does that and it drives me nuts.

    • I am a morning person.  I wake up around 5:00 am, & I am immediately bouncing off the walls.  DH isn't a morning person, so he really considers this a bad habit.
    • I'm a neat freak.   We have roombas that vaccuum daily, on each floor of our house because dirt, & dog hair on the floors make me crazy.  I can't sleep if there are dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher.  It just bothers me...
    • I'm very organized.  I will stress out over minor things that reallyshouldn't stress me.  (We are organizing a luau, & I have stressed all weekend over what kind of flower we will use for the women to put behind their ears.  The florist that we are using isn't open on the weekend, so it isn't like I could order them even if I had made a decision.)
    • I am rarely return personal calls.  I intend to, but I put it off, & then decide not to return the call because I feel that I have waited too long to do so.  I do the same with emails as well.

Hey, seems like we'd get along well...well, except for the fact we'd never talk because neither of us is good at returning phone calls! Stick out tongue

I have done that SO many times.  It just makes the place look so untidy, I can see why it bothers him... *thinks* I think I DID shut them all when I was doing dinner tonight.  So YAY me!

I'm a picker, too. I've had to really fight to not pick Ena's skin.

I am also chronically late. This morning, I was supposed to be at my friend's house at 5:30 to leave for a dog show. At 5:30, I woke up. Ouch.

Annnnd I talk really, really fast. Especially if I'm nervous. People hit me, occasionally.

lol about the hitting part.  I grew up in NY and we all talked really really fast.  Faster than Gilmore Girls.  ;)

But I don't pick so much as fidget.  I have a compulsive drive to run my fingers along hems of shirts or felt-like material in which I either destroy the hem or material or I catch a nail so many times I can then tear off the end.  Sad   Would LOVE to be able to stop doing this because it makes my shoulders hurt and my thumbs!  Yet I can't stop!  I constantly cross my arms so I can fidget with the hems of my sleeves!  I should wear all tailored button down shirts instead of knit tops so I can't do it.  At work, my wrist rest is a felt-like material and I have "fidgeted" with it so much that it's a bit rough now.  If I wear gloves, the desire goes away.  Would like to find a pair of thin gloves to wear all the time until the conditioning is over.

I have a "texture thing" too. Hard to explain, I scratch material against the grain, my own finger print ridges.

I have to be doing "something" as a child I sucked my thumb, which grew into chewing my hair (maybe oral fixation is a better word Embarrassed) then playing with (twirling) my hair and now grinding my teeth when I am awake. If I am eating, I don't play with my hair or grind my teeth. I guess I am a 'tense' person?

I am not a neat freak at home, but around my horse I am very very meticulous. He is cleaned until he shines, my tack is clean, my boots are clean and all my storage units are organized.

I am a task master when I make the decision to do something, I have to get stuff done IF I stop it won't get done for a LONG time.

Maybe not tense maybe too much nervous energy. Funny thing that ALL goes out the window when I ride, otherwise I would pass it to the horses. I can not electrify a horse if my life depended on it.

    • I am a hugeee procrastinator. I will wait until the very last minute to do something.
    • I drive fast and I text while driving
    • I pick at my lips if they are chapped
    • I HATE cleaning
    • I burp really really loud and don't care who's around
    • I sleep in every single day way too late
    • I think my worst habit is when I do drink, I drink way too much.

I don't always remember to sit "lady like" when I'm in the Jeep.  (There is nothing worse than wearing a skirt when the doors are off of the Jeep.  Half of the city gets a free show.Embarrassed)
