  Water Hoses... (dumdog) Reply Contact anyone elses dog like to chase the spray from the hose? found out today that one of mine does lol.... Miki... the endless surprise! was watering the lawn and suddenly i had a mad dog leaping about trying to attack the spray. turning in circles, stamping her feet at it, oh it was sooooooo funny! wish i had gotten pictures but... no way will i be holding a hose in one hand and my poor old beat up camera in the other while that maniac leaps about lol  my other dogs run and hide when they see the water hose!!   this weekend i'm going to see about getting a different kind of lawn sprinkler... the kind that shoots a jet of water. then maybe i can steal some pics lol   Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves.

(dumdog) Reply Contact lol i could understand that... i mean.. she did get to stay outside longer until she dried off... but that didnt take long because we chased the ball around too     best thing is she didnt roll around in the grass and dirt to dry off! Kaydee does that when she gets wet.... she looks like one of those evil junkyard dogs afterwards...   Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves.

(dumdog) Reply Contact We have had dogs that hated water til Shadow came along....he loved the water hose.  So much so that I taught him to help me carry that heavy thing.  Rocky is loving it.... he likes to chase the bubbles around in his pool.  So far Hot Shot didnt care much for the hose but once he was wet he loved the bath.   I have also noticed him playing in the doggie pool.

(dumdog) Reply Contact Absolutely!  Max loves it.  His favorite time is when the pool guys are here because  they always turn it on for him.  If anyone else has to come in the yard, he goes and sits by the spigot just in case. Still - he doesn't jump into puddles or get too enthused about sprinklers. Joyce

  Re: Water Hoses... (dumdog) Reply Contact Casey is terrified of water... getting a bath is like pulling teeth while he's awake....nearly impossible!!! There are a few dogs at the shelter that love water though - we got one of those rotating sprinklers, dogs loved it! Until...one dog loved it too much and killed it....lol. We'll have to get another one. We had one that figured out how to turn on the water from the handle, lock it in position, and play with it. She's was hysterical!

(dumdog) Reply Contact Oh how I wished my dogs did that! i get out the hose & they scatter!! lol if it's a pond, river, something other than a tub or a hose they love it.  When I hose them off in the yard i have to put the hose down, coax them over, then pick it back up & drench them, then they stand pretty quiet.  Weirdos, they loooove how they feel afterwards!! they get all rowdy & crazy, even old Sheba kicks it up a notch!  Akyra - 6 yr old border collie - shepard/rott/chow mix Sheba- 12 yr old Rotterman ( rott/dobie) Bella - 11 month mixed breed Amber - 7 yr old poodle mixed with???

(dumdog) Reply Contact  Crusher is pretty sure its related to the vacuum somehow, meaning he does not leave me alone if I've got a hose in my hand.  He doesn't however like to be sprayed directly.  But yes, he chases the water all over the place.  Which means of course, that if I want to water something that I don't want him destroying, I have to put him away.
