On Sunday (Mother's Day of all days) two uniformed officers showed up at my inlaws' home and informed them that they had found DH's brother David, who is in the Navy, dead. He was only 24 years old.
He did not report for duty and so they went to his living quarters and found his body. The Navy has no idea what happened (or if they do they are not sharing), and said that they have to do an autopsy. He is stationed in Japan, and it will take 7-10 days to ship David home.
The entire family is just in shock. David didn't have any health issues as far as we know, and they only issues that run in the family are long term diseases, not something that just up and kills you.
I'm concerned about my husband. He doesn't quite know how to deal with this. He has never even lost a grandparent. He just says that he wants to keep busy and does not want to think about it.
I'm not sure how to help him through this....
His family could use thoughts, prayers, jiggles.....
