  Prayers needed for DH and his family.... Reply Contact  On Sunday (Mother's Day of all days) two uniformed officers showed up at my inlaws' home and informed them that they had found DH's brother David, who is in the Navy, dead.  He was only 24 years old. He did not report for duty and so they went to his living quarters and found his body.  The Navy has no idea what happened (or if they do they are not sharing), and said that they have to do an autopsy.  He is stationed in Japan, and it will take 7-10 days to ship David home. The entire family is just in shock.  David didn't have any health issues as far as we know, and they only issues that run in the family are long term diseases, not something that just up and kills you. I'm concerned about my husband.  He doesn't quite know how to deal with this.  He has never even lost a grandparent.  He just says that he wants to keep busy and does not want to think about it. I'm not sure how to help him through this.... I think that the best way to help him through is to let him do what he feels that he needs to do.  Some of us do need to just keep busy and get through it.  In his own way and own time, he'll be ready to break down and then he'll need your love and support.  Not that he doesn't now, he just doesn't KNOW that he needs it now.  Just be there, and be ready for when he's ready to accept all this. Reply Contact  Oh honey, you have my prayers...having just gone through that, just know that I care.  I can understand the "keep busy" part, as that is what I wanted to do also.  Hold him tight and close to you...let him know you are there...bless you and yours...

Reply Contact Oh wow, I'm so sad for you & your extended family.  You're all in my thoughts & prayers.  In my experience, the only thing you can do for your DH is just be there.  You can't take away his pain.  You can't bring his brother back, but you CAN be there for him & hold him when he needs it & just be patient with him.   Re: Prayers needed for DH and his family.... Reply Contact OMG, I'm so sorry! My thoughts will be with your DH and his family. Some people don't grieve right away because it's such a shock. It took me 2 weeks after my mother died, after the funeral and everyone went back home and I went back to work before I "broke down" and let myself feel. And we knew she was dying! Just let your husband know that you're there for him and that if and when he wants to talk about it, you'll be there. He'll have to get there in his own time in his own way. He will. When my husband's father died, I was really worried about him, too, so I understand that part, but just be there. Reply Contact No one can ever be completely prepared to lose a loved one but when it is so sudden and unexpected it can leave you so empty and with so many questions and even regrets.  Just be available to your husband when he needs you and sensitive to his needs.  I think many people go the keep busy route.  I will be praying for you, your hubby and his family during this difficult time. ~Sarah, Harley & Izzy~ boneyjean.blogspot.com

It matters not weather the cause was a bomb blast or a private indescretion. Being away from home, from everything that grounded you and made the world real life becomes fragile and oh so finite. Please extend our prayers and condolences. It does not matter why to the rest of the world. What should matter is that a brave young man who stepped up and said he believed.... has been lost. With all of the folks who never believed in Anything living on the streets and off the goverment dole someone who was out there trying, someone who felt there was a greater good has been lost and that is a terrific lost to all of us!!  Our hearts to theirs...
