    Favorite perfume?

Curious what colognes are everyone’s favorites and what you like about them.  I went with DH to try to get a find a new one for me for the wedding, honeymoon and just in general.  I am sorta sick of the ones I have used for the last few years and out of almost every one of them so I need something new.

We must have smelled 60 colognes at Macys and sephora and none of them he really liked.  He likes less floral, I like more floral and we both HATE musk, vanilla or overly woody scented perfumes. Don’t know if anyone has any good suggestions that might fit those requirements, but if you do pass them along!

SO if you have a favorite perfume you like, tell me what it is and what you like about it and it characteristics.

I don't really know much about them, but I know that women wearing too much perfume gives me an immediate headache.  Same goes with the guys that wear too much cologne.  Grrrr....

I like J'Adore by Christian Dior, in the white bottle, not the brass bottle.  It is a very light scent

I've been wearing Allure by Chanel for many years now. I've always gotten compliments on it and it doesn't seem overly sweet or heavy. If you haven't tried it, you might want to check it out. I'd like to try something different, but I haven't found anything I like as much.

    Re: Favorite perfume?

A few years ago a friend sent me a bottle of a cologne called "Ocean Beach" (the name of the town we both grew up in) and I liked it a lot.  It's a knock-off of somethng (Sunflowers?) but it's light and not overpowering.

    Re: Favorite perfume?

I rarely wear a scent b/c I actually dress down for my job, but I've used cheap Gap "Dream" since 7th grade (11 years), lol.  I'm more into picking out stuff for DH than for myself.

Mine is Givenchy Organza Indecence, but it was out of production for a while and can only be found on E-Bay for a small fortune.  I've tried recently to find a new scent, but could not decide on one.  I've just read a few perfume blogs that say it's being brought back into production again and I may be able to find it at Nordstrom's soon!

Same here, although for me it's really ANY perfume gives me a headache, and too much gives me an unbearable headache PLUS makes my nose hurt. Waahh...

Needless to say I don't wear anything. Apparently my scent is the smell of the shampoo I use. I didn't even know I had a scent. Hmm

My Mom uses Obsession, and while it still gives me a headache, it's more minor than most...

"Ralph" by Ralph Lauren and Victoria's Secret "Pink" are two of my faves.

Thanks guys, this gives me some things to look into. I have tried most of these actually and it seems nothing is exactly what he likes.. i have never known him to be so picky. Huh?

I need something not too floral, not musk, not vanilla, not too woody,  a little citrus perhaps but not too much....   ahhhh.... not sure what is left Hmm

    Re: Favorite perfume?

Have you looked into the Jo Malone collection of fragrances?  A lot of fresh citrus-y blends, such as lime blossom, grapefruit, lime, basil & mandarin etc...

I usually like Amazing Grace by Philosophy----light, a touch of floral and citrus, but smells more "clean" than perfume-y.

Another popular "fresh" fragrance is Calyx by Prescriptives.

I hope you find something you like and can both agree on.

    Re: Favorite perfume?

Since I work at Victoria's Secret, hopefully I can help you narrow down some choices if you were to look for a perfume there.

Based on your criteria, here's some scents that could work for you:

    Light, Everyday Scent:

    * Dream Angels Desire (freesia, peony, plum, frangipani)

    Flirty, Sexy Scent:

    * Very Sexy Now (apple, magnolia, peach)

    Serious, Date-Night Scents:

    * Very Sexy Hot (marigold, freesia, berry)

    * Very Sexy (capucine, pepper, cactus flower, clementine)

Out of all these, I really REALLY like Very Sexy Now.  I get compliments from a lot of people when I wear it, and our customers have been buying it like crazy.  It has a really nice balance of being sexy without TOO much *pow* factor. Wink
