They have some pretty classy shoes if I do say so my self. Even if you can't purchase them online you may beable to find a store in your area hat carries the brand and go from there.

Good luck! I'm intrested to see what you end up with.

I know exactly where this is.  Beautiful area for wedding photos.  Is the condo right on Randolph?  I have a good friend that lives in a condo building on Randolph, east of Michigan Ave.  I'll be hoping and wishing for good weather!

I adore Dansko brand sandals, they have a cushy cloglike sole, and are nice with pants or sundresses. I have the Lolita style, and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I own: They also come in half a dozen different colors, but unfortunately, they're about double your budget. In the summer I wear them to work several times a week, so I've gotten my money's worth.

It's called The Heritage at Millenium Park.  You access it from this little alley street that is like a fraction of a block west of Michigan, I *think* there is a Subway on that corner.  Their building is on the southwest corner of Mi/Randolph.  When I slept there, I could see Marshall Fields (now Macy's or whatever) right outside my window.

It's Phil's dad's sister's place.  This is her second marriage and her husband is an upscale dentist.  They are really down to earth people though, very outgoing and not hoity-toity or condescending like some rich people.  They always offer to rent their hospitality room (they hosted a co-ed wedding shower for us in the same room) and let us stay in their condo and use their parking spots when we are in town.

I LOVE Chicago so I'm lucky to have a relative and a friend who both live right downtown but in different parts of downtown (my friend lives in the ares she calls "Boytown" b/c all the gay guys live there, I think it's in Lincoln Park but it's still in a very busy, urban area, not like friends who tell me they live in "Chicago" but live in Elk Grove, lol).

Anyway, I'm going to shower and then take some pics of the dresses so you and my family can help us make up our minds...

Ok here are the dresses.  Kenya just ripped a gob of skin off my foot so I couldn't stand flat on it.  Anyway, she wanted us in dresses, but not over the top.  I kinda like the black one, but I think sis-in-law (bride to be) likes the cream/brown one.  I guess she can pick since it's her wedding and her family pictures.

So....embellished flip-flop sandals would be OK?

Both dresses are super cute, but i LOVE the 1st one! I think a pair of embellished flip flops would look cute.

I ahree!  But I also wanted to add, about you getting the blisters with the other shoes, I am notorious for getting blisters really no matter what shoe I wear, so I get these special bandaids:  http://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/79971/200.jpg  They are clear and you put them on before you even get the blister, just where your shoe rubs you the wrong way, and it helps soo much, and they are waterproof!

I think the roman sandal style in Cassidy's Mom's post would work with either dress, and would be comfortable. Otherwise, I would say, wear sneakers for the photo shoot and then change to whatever when you are done with the pics. Unless you are taking pics all day, even at the reception.

Both are cute dresses and they look great on you, but I like the first one better for a daytime wedding. It's more summery, so I think you could get away with a more casual shoe. The second one is a bit more formal, more of an evening look, so it would be better with a dressier shoe, IMO.

Yup, I'd do the simple or even embelished flipflops.

Re: Crap I need SHOE help!!!

I went to target and found the flip flops someone posted earlier, but they fit really funny (they were very narrow).

Instead, I bought these in black and a "camel" sort of brown color, so I can return whichever doesn't get worn.  They do have a heel but it's short, and the wide strap keeps my foot from sliding.  I like the thong b/c then my feet can't slide forward.

Those shoes are really cute, and even though I tend to like the black dress better, they both are really cute and you'd like nice in either one!

I looked it up online.  My friend is a bit east of you, but I know exactly where you are going to be...right in the thick of "The Loop".

No, it really is called Boystown because of the gay community that lives there.  It is just south of Wrigleyville...yes, Wrigley Field where the Cubs play.  I'm not sure where one neighborhood ends and another begins, so it could be near Lincoln Park.
