    Mindless Chatter - Sunday

    Drum roll please..............

I took 3rd place out of 20 or so in the poker tourney last night! wohoo! I was shooting for that $220 1st place price but only won $66. Oh well. At least that covered the buy in plus gas to get there!

Yesterday was sooooooo long though. I had the hardest time staying awake for the drive home. I was up and going by 7:30 am yesterday and literally did not stop until 1:30 am when I got home. Then when I got home I was so wired from trying to stay awake and lots of caffeine that I slept like garbage last night. I'm so tired.

Herding was a super muddy affair yesterday. I got in the ring with Lily and my brother's dog Spirit.

I think I'll try to get another hour of sleep. I have someone coming over at 11am so we can drive to disc dog practice. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    p.s. yesterday's weather was beautiful!

Just another boring day here for us.

I'm getting tired of Kujo's begging at the table or around Samantha so to her dislike we are working on stay. She is actually doing a good job staying in her chair but she isnt doing it quietly. She isnt barking but over there moaning. But good thing I worked on the command quiet when I taught her to speak. She is a fast learner for such a little dog.

I'm waiting for these babies kitties to hurry up and be born. I have been fostering this cat and it turned out she had a surprise for me. She has gotten huge in the last couple weeks. Her belly is seriously only an inch off the ground. I'm pretty sure she's due anyday now but she sure isnt showing any signs of it.

Busy Sunday.  We are taking Benny to practice his agility (I will have some pics up later today and maybe a video clip!)

Then we have to go out and do just a little shopping (Oh how I hate shopping on weekends)!  Too many people, I just hate it.  I like to get in, and get out quickly.

When that's all finished I have to finish checking papers and then think about how I can chnge my bulletin board and the hallway outside the classroom to Spring time work instead of winter.  I am just coming up empty on that one.  I'll be surfing the net for some good ideas.

We're off to practice agility, Benny's new favorite thing.

It's supposed to reach 46 degrees here today so I'm hoping to break the sub zero hibernation streak of this past week and get Bailey out hiking.  These next few months are going to be crazy - I'm getting married in July and the stress has started to set in.  Ack.  My current task is to find ballroom dancing lessons locally so I've been Google-ing this morning and leaving messages at dance studios.  I think it will be fun to learn how to dance properly, but I'm a little intimidated about it!

I'm trying to decide what to do today.  I think we'll go hang out at my grandpa's.  I need to do some grocery shopping and pick up a few things for my trip.  Not leaving til Friday but I don't want to put everything off for the last minute.  I also need a new swim suit top.  I got this really cute suit last year on sale at the end of the season.  Now that I've lose 26lbs it looks good.  Except there's this weird crease across one of the top triangles that I can't get rid of (there's two layers of fabric and it seems like the bottom one has a little excess fabric so it bunches up inside, putting a nice line across my boob!).  Luckily, it's a really plain brown top (the bottom is polka dotted) and I'm sure I can pick up an exact match at Old Navy.

Bev & I are going hiking today with some other dobie owners.  The trail that we're taking is an off leash one, so everyone will be able to romp & play at will.  I'm sure that he'll have fun & hopefully be tired when we get home.

I think that I've found a housekeeper.YAY!!!  I'm meeting with her this evening.  She comes highly recommended by  a friend, & she is comfortable around dogs.  Hopefully, I'll like her...

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Sunday

I have been watching my cousin's dog this weekend.  She and Izzy are so funny together and have been having a lot of fun.  They are outside barking at the neighbor's dogs through the fence, one of Izzy's favorite past times, while Harley is cuddled up to my leg trying to get some reprieve.

Today is truly officially the end of my personal life until after April 15th.  I have to clean the house really well and then my parent's, brother, and some close family friends are coming over for dinner.  My mom's bday was Friday so we invited them all over for steaks for her.  I am naking this really tasty dessert that I found in a diabetic cookbook.  I made it for my dad's bday too and it was most definately a hit!  Then, I will be working late late, at the office, for the next two weeks.  Blah!  I am starting to get a little overwhelmed by the amount of large returns I still have left to do plus the quantity in general.  Best part though is, 2 weeks until vacation!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Sunday

So while IMing with Jeano yesterday, I casually mentioned that I believed we were on the tail end of winter.  And of course true to the nature of NW Ontario winters, I woke up to insane 2 billion mph winds and a sleet storm from Hades.  The dogs are pleased, I am not.

I took out steaks for dinner tonight.  I'll bake them I think as the bbq has to stay outside and I, do not.   I have about a pound of fresh mushrooms in the fridge so maybe I'll make a nice mushroom gravy with it and serve them on toasted french bread.  Which reminds me I have to get out my breadmaker if thats gonna happen.  Do mushrooms count as vegetables?  If they do, I'm just gonna make baked potatoes with it and call it a meal.

GeorgAnn, you teach?! I'm an education major :) :) and I'm getting reaaally close to my junior internship. Eeeek. That makes me feel old!

It is bea-u-ti-ful out. I turned off the A/C and opened the windows because Pirate likes to sniffle the 'breeze'. LOL.

I think I've got a pretty nice base tan, from Friday's beach day. And I was wearing SPF 50! I need to buy this summer's stash of sunblock. I only like one certain brand because it's oil free and a high enough SPF, *and* it doesn't burn my eyes.

We are having great weather here too!  Willow and I went hiking earlier.  And, now I'm getting up the ambition to grocery shop for us for the week and I also have a list of stuff I need at Petco.  But, I am just done today, I'm lazy, lazy, lazy.  I wish I could just watch a movie on the couch.  BUT, then nothing will get done.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend.

My parents have adopted Zoe - the 3yr old Dobe from the same rescue Gracie and their last Dobe, Joe, came from.  I'm so excited for them!!!  They are great dog owners and will make such a good home for Zoe!  I'm anxious to see pics of her!  I hear she has military cropped ears (or my mom calls them "almost pig ears").  She's black and tan and their first female dog in a LOOOOOoooOOOong time!  (I think they got used to Gracie, though, so they should be fine)

Aparently she was given up by some folks who had adopted a dog from the same rescue years ago, then got Zoe from a breeder.  Then had two kids and decided it was too much... especially when "the dog hair got into the high chair".... uh.... WHAT!?  Dumb!

What a weekend. I'm freaking beat! I sooooo wish that my hot tub was up and running. I could totally go for a soak in 104 degree water then straight to bed. ahhhh. Doesn't that sound awesome? *sigh*

After I got back from disc dog training I decided to open up my mail from yesterday. Why is mail always bad stuff? Thank god for our swaps! Anyway, apparently, I put off paying my speeding ticket one too many weeks and my license was suspended. OOOPS! guess I need to pay that now! No doubt it'll be twice what it was if I had paid it on time. The bad part is that I was supposed to go out of town for work tomorrow and I just sent an email to my boss saying that I can't go. Gotta pay my ticket instead! Yup, very humiliating.

The bright side is that we had a nice time at the disc dog trainers place. They helped me work on Lily's recall and attention so that was cool.
