    Lost a tooth!?

I think Pedro is missing a tooth.

Either I never payed close attention and it was never there {lol} or it just recently fell out. I mean ..it's in such an obvious spot. Right in the front on the bottom. It had to have just fallen out .. but I mean when these things happen, you're like .."what, was there even a tooth there?" and start re-thinking stupid things.

There is a small space in the front where I honestly think there was a tooth. None of the other ones are chipped, it looks like one just fell out.

*So I called my vet. I told them the situation and I said, "because he's only 3, there has to be something wrong" ..but I did say it very nicely. I just figured since he was still so young, it'd call attention to him that it's a serious issue. ..So then the lady asks me what type of dog he is. Sorry, but wtf. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything. And once I said Chihuahua, supposedly they can't get him in until Monday. I think my vet is racist. lol.

    Re: Lost a tooth!?

This is a couple days old, but I just saw it.  Anyway, I think breed does have a bit to do with it.  Small breeds are more prone to tooth decay and have less room in their mouths than big dogs.  Perhaps its common for chi's or other small breeds to spontaneously lose a tooth?  I don't know for sure, but when I was looking up info on Pom's there was tons of warning about early tooth loss and decay.  Just because the mouths are soo small and yet still need to house the same number of teeth as that of a bigger dog.

OTOH, maybe the receptionist was looking up time slots and decided to get some other info from you while she/he did so.

We've had mini-doxies for years, and all of them had lost teeth and bad breath. You could just get them cleaned and a short time later, smelly breath again.  We never had that problem with any of our larger dogs.Although Dals seem to have problems with teeth, so far nothing with Maizy though.

They ask so little and give so much!
