Now the hard part is not to get her splint wet when she has to go out to potty. Still got to figure that one out because she can walk on that leg even though her foot is broken.

Aww, she looks very sad!  But surely the medication she has are keeping her from feeling a lot of pain.

    you asked:

Now the hard part is not to get her splint wet when she has to go out to potty. Still got to figure that one out because she can walk on that leg even though her foot is broken.

Use saran wrap and cellophane baggy on the foot, tape it up.

When she is feeling better consider the cone to protect itchy stitches which to me is worse than pain and impossible to stop a dog from getting into them!

Hope you are doing alright, that must feel terrible.  But you are keeping the dog, that is good! ; )

Awww, it wasn't your fault. Maybe this happened for a reason...you know, so it would convince you to keep her and know you guys are gonna have wonderful life together and someday in the future your gonna look back and that god you didn't get rid of her because she'll turn out to be the best dog ever :)

Poor Pup!  So glad to hear she's going to be okay!  I had a dog break his leg in the winter and keeping the cast dry was a pain!  I found that the thick black contractor trash bags available at Walmart and Home Depot worked best because they're good and thick and won't tear as easily as other bags.  Wrap it up good with duct tape and they're good to go.

Don't beat yourself up too much.  It happens, the important thing is that she's going to be okay!  And she'll eat up all the lovin' she's in for!  Big Smile

Poor baby!! She looks so pitiful :(

When Pirate had bandaged feetsies, I put sandwich bags over the bandaging. I think Jayde might need bigger bags than that though!

Poor Jayde!  At least it sounds like she's convalescing, and that she'll be okay in the long run.  Don't beat yourself up about it, it was an accident.  Give her a treat from Honor and I!

Well this morning I let her out to use the bathroom and she goes running around like she isnt hurt. So i put a leash on her. She sat down and looked at me like "is this necessary?" She did her business and is now enjoying her breakfast and some liver flavored treats I found at TSC. Just waiting for her to get tired of the splint and try to take it off.

Aww, poor Jayde, she just looks a bit miserable! But, like she's enjoying her comfy new digs ;)  Try not to feel too bad, accidents happen!  And the great news is she's gonna be OK! Good as new in 6-8 weeks!  I'm sure she'll be more concerned about cars from now on though, which isn't a bad thing.  And for the cast, can you wrap a garbage bag around it and tuck it into the edges when she has to go out?   Or maybe coat the bottom with some kind of rubberized glue that'll dry (hopefully quickly!) Or duct tape?

Give her some snuggles for me.  GET BETTER SOON, JAYDE!

Poor doggie... She looks sad if you ask me...

But now, just give her a lot of love and attention and she'll be herself again! Well, maybe she'll be more careful with the cars... That's what happend with my dog when he got hit.
