Karma...plain and simple. I guess cheating only takes ya so far lol.

So true!  I couldn't believe he left the game - sure foregone conclusion with 1 second but leave the field????

I won't diminish the Giants win with catty talk - I simply appreciated the wild play in the 4th where Eli avoided the tackle and still managed to meet his mark.  Pivotal to the game, IMO.

Pah....trash talk, and Monday morning QB's are the cornerstone of sports. IMO the first mistake of the Pats....Bill wearing that non grey sweatshirt! LOL.

Belichick is who he is, and has never been big on interviews, win or lose - the guy is good at what he does, but he isn't the one you want for the great sound byte.  As to the cheating, I'm 100% convinced, just as with major league baseball and the steroid thing, that pretty much everyone does the same things - only matters who gets caught.  So, don't be so quick to think the Pats are any different from the Giants or anyone else.  I'm not a big football fan, and the outcome wasn't as important to me as the Red Sox winning the World Series, but I do give Tom Brady credit for his sportsmanlike conduct after the game.

Anyhow, I like Superbowl Sunday - all the doggies come to Yappy Hour to get tired before the game, and I make moolah.

    Re: SUPERBOWL SUNDAY 42

WELL I must say that was the most embarassing game I've ever watched?!

NE's offensive linemen were asleep! I've never seen Brady on his back so much in my life, and it's not his fault, its the offensive linemen's fault. Not only that but our WR weren't even running the play correctly! For people who don't know football that well it looks like "Brady" did horrible when the fact is he had no protection and no one to throw to.

Overall the Patriots as a team played horrible... which is why the Giants won. The game was (NE 7 ; NYG 3) all the way till the 4th quarter; which means the Giants didn't do WELL but they did do BETTER.

Eli had all the time in the world to throw the ball. Everytime time the Giants had the ball I was like ummm okay where is that Pat's defense... oh wait they are SLEEPING!!! lol And when Eli "got away" I was laughing; I think we need to teach the Patriots defense how to tackle (TACKLE 101 grab their LEGS not their JERSEY! lol)

I am very dissapointed in my home team; they played a horrible game and lost to a team they beat TWICE all ready (who only scored 3 point and you can't even beat them in the end?! pathetic...). We played the hardest teams in the NFL more than once this season, went 18-0, and we couldn't even beat the Giants.... ha oh man.

I'm happy to see my other favorite team win a superbowl though!

As for the cheating lets get it straight (a) both teams are allowed to free freeze record games (b) we live recorded during the jets game (c) Bill should have had more control over his OC & OD to make sure something dumb like that wouldn't happen (d) they admitted they were wrong, the poor team suffered from the coach's stupid mistake (e) they got a huge scolding & lost their first round draft pick (big ouch)...

And as for Bill, everyone knows he has no personality. When you heard him speak that's how he speaks when we WIN! He just goes "yep... yeah i'm happy we won... team did good therefore we won... any questions? thank you" and leaves. That's just our coach and I find it hillarious; the sports writers ask the dumbest questions and he lets them know it haha.

My summary of the game was: the Patriots played horrible therefore the Giants won.

The one then...rather negates the other....doesn't it? Wink

Your opinion is interesting...but I don't share it, and that's OK.

I certainly think there are uber competitive people that cross the line....people in power...but I don't think they are in the majority...because if everybody did it...everything else a team does wouldn't matter, everyone would know everything about everyone's defense...hasn't happened. I have seen far too many good teams...unable to figure out how to stop a defense...to believe everyone and thier Daddy is cheating and stealing.

Giants D made the Pats play horribly...which is closer to the truth...IMO. Eli had guys in his face often enough thru the course of the night...he grew up...he was infused with the spirit of Bret Favre on that last scramble...and Tyree's catch well...that was something amazing to watch.  THAT is ganas right there! I'm a die hard Pats fan....my Dad has had season tickets forever....and I'm shocked.

I cannot believe we couldn't beat the Giants....We had the better team, the better coach, we just coudn't pull it all together....and of all the NFL teams they're (NYG) my fiancee's favorite. I am totally and utterly disguisted with the way this all played out.

And as a true Bostonian I must say....I still hate NY.

lol exactly. Look... if you KNOW football you know that you are allowed to "record" the games in many different ways. One of them though happens to be someone STANDING there with a LIVE camera (no can't do that) but have other people done it? oh yes tons of teams have done this but guess what? The Jets lost got FURIOUS and "told on us" hense the "rat" theme at the game? (I don't know how many football fans there are here but if you are you probably know about the rat theme)

Spirit you ARE 100% correct. We did what other people do, got caught, but we are "great at what we do" because did you see how we handled it? We apologized said we DESERVED what we got and then went 18-0... in my eyes thats good class after a mistake.

Couldn't agree more! I was seriously invested in the Pats winning this year and was shocked and very disappointed that they didn't.

Though I have to give Manning credit where credit is due...that throw mentioned earlier in the thread...where he got loose from the *pathetic* tackle and threw the ball to whoever that was that did that unbelievable catch (major credit to him too!)...WOW. that was football. very impressive play! If they hadn't made that play I don' think they would have won the superbowl. Incredible.

The Giant's Defense took down Brady yes... why? Well did you see how HORRIBLE our offensive linemen were? Psh anything could take Brady down with all the gaps they left. There was one play I saw Matt Lite get a penalty... then just STAND there not blocking... I was screaming lol

    rwbeagles:

    Eli ...he grew up...

This I do agree with. (1) the Patriots are just sad and couldn't even tackle him (they kept grabbing at his shirt im like hello LEGS?!) (2) Eli deff did good under pressure and I'm proud of him because usually if a guy is coming towards him he flops

    Re: SUPERBOWL SUNDAY 42

I feel for Pats fans...I do.

But in this instance...in this game it's not always about better but about who wants it. I never got that the Pats wanted it. When you want something you work for it and you bleed for it...I didn't see that. Speaking about just this one game...not the season....the Pats wanted to be undefeated...thru the season...they were great.

I saw a team that "assumed" they were going to get something, they already had it, in their minds...I honestly believe that. From players down to coach....they felt it was inevitable...

They are all intelligent guys who know there was a game to be played...but they were at a disadvantage from the start because of that feeling or entitlement. IMO.

I watched their faces thruout the game...there was disbelief...frustration...shock. This was before the end...all thruout. It was like they couldn't believe this was becoming work....

Again...pure armchair QB'ing yes. This game was good for football...it was a great game...it was the best SB I've seen in a very long time. But as a Wings fan who's cried on her couch because her all-powerful, unstoppable team just coasted in an expected to win something...then gotten a firm boot in their behind out of the playoffs...you just can't play like that. You have to be confident you can win the game...but you cannot overdo it.
