Red rash all over, not hives

Darci, our 3 yr old welsh corgi, for the last week has had a red rash all over her body even the skin inside her ears is red, its not hives, more similar to whelps.

She has been to the vet twice this last week, had a steroid shot which didn't help at all, benadryl which has helped only slightly, now they have her on hydroxyzine which isn't doing all that much either.

She seems to feel ok no vomiting or diarrhea, a little sleepy from the meds, the only thing I have noticed is she seems to pant more at times.

The vets best guess is that its something environmental.....???? !!!!

The vet said she didn't think it was food related, maybe ants or something like that.

We did change food but it was after the rash appeared, however we did change dog treats before the rash started but she has eat this brand before ( natural balance ) but it was their new brand turkey, cranberry.... Shes on natural balance potato and duck before that she was on EP fish. But again the vet said she didn't think it was food related.

    Any ideas ????

Sorry to hear!  I would start by not giving her the treats anymore.  Since you did change, maybe she's allergic to the cranberries or something.  Also, did you change detergents and wash her blanket, pillow, or anything she would lay on like your bed, etc.?  How about her shampoo?  Just throwing out suggestions, sometimes you change things, but might not remember or think about it.  I see your vet don't think it's food related, but...they can sometimes be wrong...as you've probably read in these forums. :)  Did you have your yard treated?  Change flea/tick meds?  Just more suggestions.  Good Luck, hope she feels better soon!
