    testing avatar...again

ETA:  I have an avatar photo at photobucket.  What format should I use?  IMG, Direct Link, HTML?  Whatever I am doing now, isn't working.

Use the direct link, and input that into the URL space when uploading the avatar.

OK - what about those of us who are totally clueless about photobucket and imageshack?  I can't possibly be the only one - can I? Tongue Tied

    Go to here: Photobucket.com

    Click "Join now"

Fill in a Username and a password

Fill in all the information on the next page (I use false info for what I don't want them to know) except you should use a valid email address. Then click I Accept - Sign me up

Then, at the top, it says "Click HERE to go to your album"

Then hit "Browse" and select an image from your computer.

    Then hit Upload

And when your picture uploads, scroll down so you can see it.

There will be 4 lines of text under it

Click on the second one down and you'll see the word  "copied"

That means that the link is copied into your "buffer" and when you hit CNTR V somewhere else, the link will be "pasted" there.

Go to the post your making and click on the little tree. When the window pops up, Put your cursor in the first field "Image Url" and hit CNTR V. And then Insert. Your picture will show up in your post.

Thanks to you and FourisCompany for the info.  I am still having problems using Photobucket.  The direct link won't work for me.  I ended up uploading from my computer, but I know that that isn't as reliable as using an online source.

    Re: Avatar/Signature Testing

I put my avatar in right from my computer and put it in the URL slot. But I had to go to photobucket for my signature.   Finally got something to work there...after trying to get a picture small enough to use for my sig..... no matter how small I made that picture it kept being too big for a signature.   Embarrassed
