Hey everyone! Although i'm not new to being on forums I am new here. My name is Andrew and in my avatar is Hook. He is a family members dog I often spend a lot of time with. I don't personally own a dog right now because of living conditions don't suit an animal here (other then fish) and my day is just too busy to look after one fully.
I helped train Hook to be a water rescue dog. He really is impressive (although aging now). He totally loves me as much as I love him, he always remembers me (even without seeing him for over 8 months!) and always responds to me in a happy manor. Part of the reason I think is I am the 2nd last of his pack. Normally, when I get to be with him we were up Maine, and well with Hook, there was always 2-3 other dogs owned by the same family member. They grown old and passed, so really Hook is the last right now. In all at once there was 2 male Newfoundlands, 1 female (was oldest), and 1 black lab.
Hook and the female, Halie, both got many awards in dog shows. Halie got every single one she could qualify for, Hook was short of the last one. I really didn't know much about the shows, and never got to see them preform, but I do remember all the days of training, with that little clicker thing and little blocks of cheese.
I hope I will be able to put my paws up and enjoy it here!
