    Jen needs prayers

    Many of you know that my niece has been having some issues with an ingrown toenail that was surgically repaired in the past week or so.  Jen was admitted to one hospital last week where they basically hung an IV bag and did nothing else....no cleansing the foot, no calling her podiatrist, nothing.....they sent her home Saturday evening because they were afraid in her weakened condition she'd catch one of the superbugs in the hospital.

    Yesterday her doctor determined that she had to have surgery to try and remove the secondary infection and that was set for today at the surgical center. Last night she was admitted to a different hospital than the first one because she was so sick and lethargic.  Women in my family don't slow down....we don't GET lethargic.  We don't show pain...we are stoic like dogs....no one knows when we hurt.  So for Jen to actually agree to hospitilization, she's one sick young woman.

    Jen is 37 years old.  She's got a husband and 3 small children.....the last adopted from an underdeveloped country.  She needs prayers and healing  vibes big time to get home to her family.

    Thanks

    I've been praying for Jen and will continue to pray for her and her family.  I know you must be so terribly worried and frustrated that you can't be there with your family. I know how helpless it feels to be so far away in times like these. {{Hugs}}

    Thanks Jackie.  I'm terrified.  All this from a toenail for heavens sakes.

    I'll continue to keep Jen in my thoughts and prayers too. It's truly scary how things can turn so serious in a short period of time. Hopefully she's now getting all the treatment she needs though and can begin to heal.

    Re: Jen needs prayers

    Jen will have surgery today.  Whether they can do it at the hospital or will have to transport her by ambulance to the surgery center remains to be seen.  She is critically ill and was so dehydrated when she went to the hospital that they had trouble starting the IV.

    I'll keep everyone updated as I get more information.

    Re: Jen needs prayers

    My gosh, this was an INGROWN TOENAIL!!!  And now she's in critical condition???  How on earth does that happen?  I'm a total wreck waiting to hear something, and I don't want to call and bug my sister when I know she's gotta be a basket case, but if I don't hear anything in another hour or so, I'm going to.

    Re: Jen needs prayers

    Glenda, call your sister to see what's going on.  She may be a "basket case" but she'll probably feel a little better knowing that you are thinking about her.
