  Re: Basset Hounds :] Reply Contact Bassets are sweet and gentle dogs, who have the most unique/wonderful bay.  I have only met one Basset that had an aggressive personality, but this dog lives with abuse, therefore I dismiss this case.  Otherwise, they're affable, affectionate dogs, but I do have to admit that between Bassets or Bloodhounds, I prefer Bloodhounds.. well.. heck I like both. In Memory of: Cleo (1994-1999) & Dacota (1995-1999) "Great dogs in every sense of the word".

I love the head on that one.  It actually looks more like a small Bloodhound. In Memory of: Cleo (1994-1999) & Dacota (1995-1999) "Great dogs in every sense of the word".
