    Crombie, taken to young

Crombie was two weeks shy of 10 months old when he went missing. A friend said they chased off an eagle that had killed a little black kitten that looked exactly like Crombie.

Upon hearing that news we've stopped actively hunting for him and have steeled our hearts for the worst. So if in the end it wasn't him (which I doubt) and he does come home then it will be a great surprise. But my heart tells me that Crombie is no longer with us.

He was annoying, whiny, obnoxious and loved to cuddle.

He was a great hunter and master dog handler.

He was a prince in the making with an addiction to Temptations.

As much as I didn't want him in the beginning, I miss him the most.

I had hoped I wouldn't be posting in this section any time soon as my animals are fairly young and healthy. But it seems The Alpha had other plans.

RIP Crombie. You are sorely missed.

Here's to hoping that he is still out there somewhere and you will get a big surprise one of these days soon. I do understand your decision though. There is only so much that can be done.

    I'm not a puppy here. I've been around i-dog (aka dog.com) since, I believe it was, 2001.

Crombie, look for a little grey tuxedo boy named Ricco.  He'll show you the cool dogs to play with & the great hunting places.

I don't look here often. I'm sorry to hear about Crombie, I know how hard it is to lose a very young cat. (Mine looked a lot like Crombie too, maybe the black cat thing is only bad luck for the cat?)

So sorry about Crombie.  I lost a black kitten a few years back when he was barely 6 months of age. Way too early it feels like.

Zack - 8 month old toy manchester terrier

Ally - 9 year old black and white domestic shorthair cat

I lost my kitten, Tommy, a few months ago.  He was just about Crombies age when he passed.  It makes me happy to think they might be together now as Tom was always with the other kittens from his litter.

I'm so sorrry for your loss.  It's so hard to loose a pet that is so young.

We just lost our big, beautiful black cat, Wolfie, last week at a young age.  I'm sure he's taking care of Crombie right now - Wolfie wasn't too thrilled with many things, but he always took kittens under his wing.  I'm so sorry for you...

I am sorry to hear this.  We lost our most wonderful black& white cat, Pippi 2 years ago at age 17 and still miss her so much.  She was a special cat.  These animals get into yur heat and then you areso hurt when they leave.

Pirate has been gone for twenty years, and I still miss him - a great B&W, too.  But, I'm sure he was there to welcome Crombie at the Bridge.

    Re: Crombie, taken to young

It makes me feel better knowing he's not alone up there. He was such a social little guy. BF and I have agreed to get another kitten next summer. And he has agreed to my conditions when we get said kitten.

The kitten will be altered when it comes of age and it'll be an indoor only cat with tags and collar this time. Hopefully I can find an orange kitten again. Smile
