    Daisy's Eye What do you think it could be?{Update}

    I took daisy to the vet a few months ago about her eye vet had no clue to what it was maybe a tumor she wasn't sure and right away said something about surgery today I was looking at her eye again and thought I seen something black so I got closer and there is something round and black in her eye. Any clue to what it is?  I will be taking her to another vet hopefully on monday

    I have no idea at all -- but something has discolored the sclera.  tumor?  dunno -- it doesn't appear 'raised' but neither does it look normal.  If she was mine, yep - she'd be at a vet.  Let us know ... and good thots and prayers for you in the meantime.

    Sad poor baby! it looks horribly painful... dont wait too long to get her fixed up and feeling good. i know how bad it hurts just to get an eyelash in my own eye, i cant imagine what she must be going through.

     Yes I'm gonna take her to another vet didn't like the vet who said well don't know thats odd and then say she'll probably need surgery, Not sure I would do surgery if that's what she needs she has a heart murmur and is almost 12 years old. Could use all the prayers for Daisy thanks

     She doesn't scratch at her eye or even act as tho it hurts just hope its nothing to serious I can't lose Daisy either :(

      How's Daisy's eye; have you seen another vet?

     Hi sorry for not giving an update I had Daisy at the vets today along with KittyKitty, we are trying some new meds drops but this vet said her lens is floating in her eye and said he's pretty sure she can't see out of it I will be taking Daisy to another vet again and see what they said but this vet today said lets try these meds now had her on some other meds but he pretty much gave two options one is to get the lens removed which we would have to go to a special eye vet and he said that would probably cost anywhere from $1500 to over $3000 or to take the whole eye out I was like ewww lol he said oh I like doing that surgery lol that would cost $400 I showed him the black thing in her eye and he really didn't know what it was so I am going to make an appointment with the special eye doctor and hopefully he can give me answers on what that black thing is in her eye.

     Really don't know what to do, do I get this surgery done or just take her whole eye out??? he said he'll give her a pretty patch to wear lol but if the lens is just floating and she can't even see out of that eye anyway might as well just take the whole eye out right???

    well, defianetly see a specialist first, and see what he says, before doing anything drastic like taking her eye out. but in general i agree. if she cant see out of it anyways, might as well... although i'd do a bit of research on it. see if there's any downsides to it... who knows...

    i know there's someone here with a one-eye dog... if only i could remember who it was.... maybe they can give you some advice... hm....

    I know a golden on another forum that had to have one eye removed because he kept getting horrible painful ulcers.  They tried everything, but finally decided eye removal would be best fo the old man--I think he was about 10.  He has done just great with one eye and is much happier bcause no more pain.
