    Our turn now? glenmar

If bad things come in threes, how about good things?  DH really, REALLY needs a job and soon.

My niece is in Guatamala to pick up her new daughter...the whole family is there.

My Mom sold her house, and the man who bought her condo when she built the house looked at it this weekend and is a back up buyer should the first fall through for some reason.  This gives Mom some financial security.

Now......our turn?  We could really use a bit of that financial security, or at least a job and a place to go?

The RV is not so bad, although I don't appreciate the trips to the shower in the cold.......but having a real home again would be awfully nice.....

A house without fur is not a home.

I know you must be frustrated. We have been traveling for 2 weeks and have another week before we will be home. My RV is pretty big but with 4 adult sized dogs and now the puppy on board it gets smaller every minute !! We are driving in Virginia, having just left Pennsylvannia,  it's cold and damp and the dogs are longing for a good run.  It will be a lot of states before we are back to sweet home Alabama.

Last night was pretty good for me, Wink We were one of probably 15 RVs, trailers and 5th wheels parking at a mall in Haggarstown.  The dogs and I wandered PetSmart and I had a canine break and wandered the craft store and wal mart.  The hubs hit the Subway shop and bought dinner. Once we settled for the evening I got out my scrapbooking stuff and was content for several hours. I can't pull it all out often as the clutter of it drives the Hubs nuts. I got a half dozen or more pages done and felt pretty satisfied with the effort. I am making one for my grand daughter Ceattle and another for grandson Tristan.(Thier Mother,  my daughter  doesn't have a creative bone in her body )

I have lived in the RV for as many as 4 months but that is not the same as your situation.  You have my admiration for being able to keep sane and a positive attitude!

Bob is driving with an old, old movie on the tv,  Jasmine , my heart is laying on the sofa across from me. I am sitting on the other sofa with feet propped up typing away at the keyboard of my laptop. Kota is snoozing on an over stuffed pillow bed next to Bob. The 3 pups, Dreamer 21 months, Zion 13 months and Nemo are all crashed in crates dreaming little puppy dreams.

Tonight we will park at a Flying J truck stop, ( I have spent way too much money at these places !! ) and we will stay in a friend's yard tommorrow in Tennessee. Then Wednesday  we will arrive and set up camp at The Perry Georgia dog show. We plan to try the older kids at lure coursing, the puppy at a B match and we show 4 days for the two adolescents. Jasmine will watch everyone and look for her treats as she knows Momma never fails to find her something tasty .

I hope and pray you will get the break you are wanting. You sure have earned it with your positive attitude and the help you offer to all of we i-doggers.  Until you get it keep notes I bet there is a book in your adventure ! heck maybe even a movie Movie

Glenda, you are absolutely far far more in my prayers than you know ... let's not limit it TO 3!

And while you trudge to the shower in the cold, you can humm that old hymn "There Shall Be Showers of Blessing, Showers of Blessing I'll see!!"

That's no joke -- a little 'positive confessing' maybe but you could turn that into a really handy, not-soon-to-be-forgotten-prayer!!!  (me, too, I think -- I can imagine I won't be able to take a shower for a while without thinking to pray for you out in the cold.

Showers of blessings would be wonderful!

Going over to the shower is a bit chilly and that first shock when I undress.....but I turn the hot water on first and turn the shower heat ON when I get there.....and although I miss my nice soaking baths, it's not so bad.  I always dry my hair IN the bathhouse so the walk back is ok.  AND, it's getting much warmer now.  All week the lowest we're gonna get is 37 and thats not until Saturday, so that could change.  Saturday and yesterday were in the 60's and all the snow is gone from the roads.  We turned the RV around yesterday....DH had pulled in when we first got here and was parked right in the middle of the site, now we are backed in and all the way to one side.  Lots, lots more room this way.

And, on the plus size, I have lost a pant size since I've been here, and the bra cups aren't quite so full....all good things!  My dogs are loving the one on one walks and the fetch game in the mornings.  We have a big fat stick that we leave by "the big tree" and they all grab the stick as soon as we get there, and everyone of them puts it back for next time!  We have a couple "potty places" where just about everyone poops, making it not necessary for me to carry the danged pooper scooper the whole walk.  I clean up and prop it against a tree and pick it up on the way back.  I never thought I wanted one, but going through 12-15 plastic grocery bags each day, I was rapidly running out even though I've saved the dang things to recycle for the last year!

So, it's not that I can't tolerate it here....but gosh, we so need to have a job and a home again!

A house without fur is not a home.

Yes, it is definitely your turn now and don't be afraid or too humble to say it. I was single and unemployed at one point and didn't know how I'd make my next rent payment. I'd been on 2-3 interviews each week and everytime I was hopeful, I'd get the call that they found some more qualified. I'd say to myself "that's okay, there's probably people who need it more than I do".  One time though, I'd gone on the interview, thought I'd done well and really wanted this job. They said they'd call me on Friday to tell me their decision.  Towards the middle of the day, I hadn't heard and was feeling really antsy and then a different feeling came over me and I had a little talk with God. I said "I've been really patient and understanding on the other jobs but I REALLY want this job!".  A couple hours later, I got the call that I'd gotten the job Big Smile.  I hope something miraculous happens for you Glenda and real soon!

Glenda, here's hoping that you will be on the receiving end of some excellent news next.  It's more than time for it to be your turn!

I'm in awe of your positive attitude and your ability to find the good points of your situation, including the benefits of your mulitple dog walks!  It's a new kind of diet plan no one has pitched to the public yet ---- maybe you could write a book:  The RV Fitness Plan!  I can see your photo on the jacket cover already, flanked by all your dogs.  It could be a best-seller!  Wink

The universe will send something great your way soon, and we'll all be eager to read that post when you write to tell us!

Hey, a pant size smaller is no small deal!

Seriously though, you can let stuff drive you mad or you can find the silver lining.  I've seen too many folks made bitter by circumstances.....I choose to let circumstances make me BETTER instead.  Whining, and being all, "woe is me" sure isn't going to make the situation any better!

The folks who own the park were so impressed that we actually walk our dogs....said most people just put them out on the site and call it good.  I couldn't do that without feeling incredibly guilty.  My dogs are so used to exercise and having a chance to run.

We've gotten to the point that I can actually slide the scooper into place and catch everything and not have to scoop now!  These guys are incredible in what they accept!

Hahaha, I've played that game too.  Embarrassed  The things that amuse us dog people.  Hang in there Glenda.  Dark clouds are gathering here too, but I'm sure this too will pass.  It's just hard weathering the storm.  <sigh>

Hey, it works so very well!  One less little thing to do on our walks!

They are soooo funny putting the stick down by the big tree after we've played fetch for a bit....and the way that they won't go far to poop cuz mom can't get up there.  Or how they wait until just the right point to expect to be let loose.  DH doesn't have a tenth of the control I do over them outside, but he's the one who can get them to settle better INside.

This can't be tons of fun for them, not being able to get out and play all day like they are used to, but gosh darn, they are being soooo good.  I feel pretty guilty about making them live like this, but, at least they have US and they have their homecooked still....which is a bit of a challenge.  And, it's sure better than having to put them in a kennel someplace.

Sequoyah says "one at a time for f-r-i-s-b-e-e might be fun".  Of course, that's her favorite activity.  But, she does get the cabin fever in dogs thing:-)

Anyway, we, as always, have only the best hopes for you and DH to have good luck, find a place, and get settled in a dog friendly home again.
