    City or Country dogs ??

Aside from some obvious differences can any one tell me what I should be doing to train the new kid, Nemo for his future life in New York City?? He will have Kota to help show him the ropes but I want him to be as comfy as possible in the transition at the end of July.

Curbing has me puzzled  is the object to teach the dog to potty in the gutter as opposed to holding it until they get to the park??

I would think one of the biggest things for dogs in the city is noise. When I first got Kobi I made it a point to walk him on the major roads with buses and large trucks. Horns blowing, air breaks, sirens and general load traffic noise can spook a dog. Depending on where Nemo will be going other things to consider are riding in elevators, buses and subways, as well as on escalators or through revolving doors.

I also think noise, noise and more noise. Also, crowds getting use to staying close to you, and walking over grates and manhole covers. Basically expanding the usual list of different surfaces to walk on so it's every surface you can think of.

It's just a better life with dogs.
