    Bevo & Lola

I took Bev & Lola for a hike this morning.  The weather here is amazing, & it was great to get outside for a bit.

We finally have water in our creeks again!

Lola: "Bev, what are you doing?"

Bev: "Can't a dog pee in peace?"

    Pretty Girl.

I really liked this shot.  Even without a nose!

Bev had a mass removed on Monday, so he can't wear a harness right now.  He never has a leash attached to his collar because I don't want any added pressure on his neck.  So, he was off leash & kept at a walk for the entire hike.  It was an interesting challenge for both he & I, but he did pretty well.

There was a squirrel throwing things out of a tree.  Bev really wanted to see what was hitting the ground.

    Thanks for looking!

    Amanda

It's always great to see Bev.  I love his collar.  Very stylish.

Lola, you are gorgeous.  You sure look like life with Amanda & the pack is doing wonders for ya.  I have mixed feelings about your ear.  Part of me finds it so endearing.  Another part of me is so sad when I think about how it may have become a half an ear.

Where the heck have I been?! Who's Lola? Regardless, she's lucky to be with you and your pack.

Good boy, Bevo for being so good on your walk.  We all know you would have much preferred running like the wind.  Lola looks so happy and it's great to know she's learning how to enjoy life for a change.  The weather has been gorgeous here too.  Great pic's, Amanda!

Bevo & Lola had a good day out together with the Mama...very nice.

Seeing Lola's ear reminds me of my Choc. Lab, Codycoe (RIP).  She had about 1/3 of her ear ripped off when she was about 11 or so.  Her Buddy stopped the bleeding....another story for another thread.

    Love these pics!

     cute!

Do you know how Lola lost her ear? We took in a dog that had had his ear shot off with a bebe gun... still had some bullets logged in various places on his body.

I think I missed the story of Lola, too.  She's soooo cute!  Oh, her poor ear...but it adds character.

    Bevo, lurve the collar.  Cha-ching!

Lola is our foster girl.  The shelter where she has been for the past 4 years is out of space, & she is considered unadoptable because she's very shy.  I'm not sure that I agree with the person who made the assesment that she's unadoptable but that's something that I'll address with them later.

She's an absolute sweetie, & while she is shy, she has made huge strides in the 5 days that I've had her.  She has really benefitted from being in a very active house, with dogs who are very confident.

Her ear is the reason that she is at the shelter.  Her previous owner decided to crop his litter of puppies ears, when they were 7 months old.  The police got there during her crop so she only lost one ear instead of two.

Normally they go quickly here too.

From what I've been told, they have had people put in applications on her, but they have turned them down because "they don't know how to deal with a special needs dog."  She is, IMO, not a special needs dog.  She's a dog who has been pitied, allowed to get away with murder, & exposed to absolutely nothing.  As far as I am concerned, all of that junk is fixable, & we're working to overcome it.

    Re: Bevo & Lola

well - if anyone can turn her around, and get her moved out - it's you and your crew - so best of luck to you!

Our ear guy was adopted out before we could even get him officially signed in!

Sad - she's still a beautiful girl and she and Bevo make a great pair. I hope she continues to thrive with you and your crew.

Bevo looks as handsome as ever and Lola is adorably smooshable.  Definitely agree that your crew should be able to bring her around.
