Anyone tried the Kong Chew resistant bed

We were shopping around Petsmart the other day to see what kind of chew toys they have, and we saw this bed. It say Kong right on it. I haven't been able to find it online anywhere, even on Kong's website. Has anyone tried it, and if not, does anyone have any experiences with a chew resistant bed. We are about at wit's end with Bear, who has gone on another bed chewing rampage. I don't know what else to do for her. I can't imagine what she will be like when a puppy gets here.  thanks, Julie

I never heard of that and would be curious to know myself. Ari doesn't get a bed. Period. She'll eat it. If we're home, she is allowed on the couch (supervised only) and at night she's occasionally allowed to sleep on the bed with us. In her kennel though, she just gets the crate pan to keep her up and off the wire. Not ideal, but better than her eating her bedding.

Hi just wanted you to lknow I have a great Dane puppy that we bought the kong bed for(he is a chewer). My husband and I love it. It is very sturdy also I took the cover off yesterday and washed it. Inside it has and you can put more ceder chips. We also got ours at pet smart but I too find nothing online about them. Just so you know I would recomend it to everyone. I love the fact it is washable !!!! Our Brutus loves this bed!!!!

We have -2- Labrador puppies (8 months) and bought -2- of the beds at Petsmart. Within -2- weeks they had the zipper torn out of one and the stuffing was everywhere. About the only thing these two cannot tear up are nylon bones. I think the reason you do not see anything about these beds is they are not chew resistant. We paid $60.00 each for these beds and have seen other beds on-line for over $100.00. I guess you get what you pay for. Let us know if there is a bed out there with a warranty please. Our -2- "Marley's" will put them to the test.

Interesting...I might want to take a look at the Kong beds for the Houligans.  They don't mess with their beds when its sleeptime.  But if I don't close the kennels or crates when they up and around playing....watch out, stufficide is committed.  Tongue Tied

If you just want a bed, and not a  pillow type bed, these are nice http://kuranda.com/

We've had one of the standard beds for about 5 years, though the dogs using it now are tiny and won't wreck it, the dog using it before them tore up every other bed we bought.

I bought one of these as well and my dog had it chewed up within 24 hours.  I brought it back to PetSmart and got my money back.

    cgimmel -

If you still have your receipt take it back to petsmart.  I took mine back and the store manager laughed and said I dog got to this one.  These were supposed to be the best beds for dogs that chew.  I was refunded my money no questions asked.

Ours only got to keep theirs for 4 days, then they got sprayed by a skunk. I will hold on to the receipt. Sorry I didn't answer. My email notification must have been off. Julie
