WMRL still has three K911 heroes that would like to be home for the
holidays. We are once again asking assistance from the Calvin Community
with letting friends and relatives know about these great dogs. All three have
had some obedience training, are vaccinated and neutered, have been temperament
tested, and will make excellent pets.

Sabrina is one year old, female, very sweet, and a boxer mix. She is brindle
in color. While Sabrina walks happily with you when on a leash, she often
stops and looks you in the eye to gain some sort of reassurance that you
approve of what she's doing. She is the type of dog that will bond quickly
with her new owner.

Rosco is a young, male, shepherd-sort-of-rottie mix who loves chasing balls.
When he first came to WMRL he was sad and unsure of himself, but now is smiley
and outgoing. He is energetic and would benefit from being allowed to run one
thousand miles an hour after a Frisbee or a ball. He will make someone an
excellent buddy.

Bullet is about a year old and a kind, male, cool color of brown,
retriever / husky mix. He loves people and loves to play. When alone in the
exercise room he throws his toys in the air and entertains himself. He would
prefer to be entertained by a human.

Times are tough for dogs these days, and competition for homes is fierce.
Please help us spread the word regarding these wonderful dogs.

I have adopted three cats from this facility, and even went to adopt a dog and to visit several of the dogs (did not adopt the dog because he had too severe SA for us working full time but a friend with a retired husband adopted him). DESPERATELY seeking information on the health and welfare of this beautiful FORMENTINO CANE CORSO MALE, AROUND 18 MONTHS.

So I do not violate any terms of service the names have been *** out.

He was given to M***** C****** of Durham, NC, R****** D** R***** on July 19, 2009.

I did not just dump this dog. It took 3 months of agonizing decision making to place him with a rescue. I had an unfortunate surgical incident that left me in a wheelchair and bedridden for months and this beautiful boy was not living the full and happy life he deserved.

I gave a check to M****** C****** for $150.00 for his neutering as she stated her vet would update him on his shots (he was coming due) and neuter for $120.00 When we met the price was suddenly $220.00 but all I had was a check for $150. and she stated another person had volunteered to make up the difference. This dog, if still unaltered, is worth around $1200.00 on the low end.
Since turning him over, (and I have no signed owner release agreement), but a series of emails that SPECIFICALLY state I am to have the full name, address and phone number of adopter and that this is to be an "OPEN ADOPTION", I have been unable to receive ANY verifiable information or photos, which I was promised by EVERYONE including M****** while he was in her care.

I received many phone calls from M******. There were so many stories I lost track. One that stuck out was she took him to be neutered and then a few days later he attacked and killed a raccoon that was "threatening" her and her little dog. He supposedly received several deep scratches. I immediately became concerned wanted the vets number who treated him and the information from the ACO to make sure the raccoon was not rabid. Of course I received none of this.

Then she adopts him on a "trial basis" to some strange couple who would not allow me to have their phone number or address, plus, who adopts out a dog who has only been neutered 5 days before and had been attacked by a raccoon that you didn't even know if it was rabid??? I made it VERY CLEAR this was a strong and dominant dog that needed an experienced handler, yet the female half of this "adopters" was coming off as very weak and terrified, like she was in witness protection. I also received 2 photos from this person, both which had been lifted from websites, which I recently discovered, but again, none of Dude.

I could not reach M****** for almost a month and finally contacted "R*****". She gave me a new phone number, the other was a land line which I verified, and this was a prepay phone. She tells me she couldn't find my information, glad I called, etc., Dude had been returned BUT there was another person who was interested, this time a male in Raleigh. The stories start to become more and more convoluted as time wore on. I could not get photos of him, phone numbers, addresses, nothing to verify he was neutered, nothing to verify he still is alive. This guy supposedly took him to upstate NY on a "visit" to his parents. I then receive an email from "Jamie" who supposedly has him. Included were of course, no photos of Dude, but other photos one in particular of a Cane Corso that is supposedly owned by a good friend of his. Today I found not only that photo on the internet, but the name and owner of the dog, IN NOVA SCOTIA. Not even close to the information that was given to me. I have duly notified him.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. I have all documentation to back all this up. and more , so this is not libel, slander or anything close to it. Truth is truth.

All I want to do is FIND DUDE! I want to make sure he is healthy, happy, loved and NEUTERED.

The last straw was last week. I received several calls from M****** and in those calls I asked for a copy of the adoption agreement between the rescue and the adopter, with the verifiable information because she ASKED ME TO DO A BACKGROUND CHECK ON THIS PERSON. Suddenly her husband, who is seriously ill, was away in VA Beach with his buddies and he took the computer so she didn't have it. Then she told me they used it to email each other instead of call, subject changed when I suggested he email her the file. Then I suggested "R*****" would have the information, and she stated she was "out of town on vacation". Then I told her I was contacting Durham county Police to file theft charges if he didn't sign an agreement, she said she already did and they would help us anyway they could. When pressed with who it was she spoke to, after claiming the week before she had a "friend" who was a detective there, she told me "oh, it was the lady on the desk". When I told her I was calling, and needed at least a starting point of where Dude had been neutered, she told me she didn't have it done, "R*****" did and again, she was "away". YET she had told me when he was in the "raccoon fight" that she had taken him to her vet and he had checked his stitches. When pressed for his info, she "didn't have it on her." You don't remember your own vets name and you're in rescue??? What are the odds?

Maybe this is all one giant, incalcuable set of coincidences. If so I think I need someone on the level of Stephen Hawkings to figure it out. I do know I have 5 different email addresses since this began and 83 emails between all of them and only two have verifiable links, M****** and the young man who supposedly adopted Dude, who is actually a female whose hobbies are listed as "Shawn".

I will NOT GIVE UP until I find him, or find out what happened to him. My entire family is devastated. I cannot concentrate, sleep fully, I wake up dreaming of him, I cry at the drop of a hat. I CAN'T BELIEVE I LET HIM DOWN LIKE THIS.

PLEASE, PASS THIS ON TO ANY RESCUE GROUP OR ANYONE YOU THINK CAN HELP!

No one ever came to look at Clifford or Dillion. Ally got picked over Holly. And no one has been interested in Hannah at all.

These guys will are 6 weeks old. In 2 weeks they will be ready to go to their forever homes.They are Lab mixes. Looks like Holly and Dillion are gonna be long haired. They've been eating TOTW, crate trained, played with daily by Samantha and I, have their first set of shots.

Anyone know anyone looking for a new family member think of my guys please?

This fundraiser requestes that you purchase a brick. On you brick you can choose whatever you would like it to say up to a cirten number of letters. You can also choose to have clip art on the brick. These brick will create a pathway leading up to our shelters Adoption center. and will remain there for centuries to come!

You will also receive a mini replica brick (which you will be required to pay shipping for, sorry.) The mini brick will be one for you to charish for those same forth comming years, and every time some one askes "Why do you have a brick on your mantel?" you can tell them that you bought a brick for the FMAS inorder to help them spay and neauter our wonderful 4 legged friends! can help!

Think Tank needed to help a rescue agency

Okie dokie folks I need a larger think tank to help think outside the box so to speak. Anyone knowing contact urls or addies to apply for help from funding to media support ? There is a Rescue Agency in Texas that is almost entirely funded by the founder with help via donations. She has 140+ dogs at her place at any given time. While she is primarily a Ridgeback rescuer she does other breeds as well including Great Danes, Whippets and some terriers. Bonney i sin her 60's and a limo driver. She lives with great frugleness and gives endlessly to the dogs. As she takes in other breeds our National Club can not give funds

She is being sued by a woman who resented being called a puppy miller. The fact that this woman has dogs in rescue and she has up 6 litters on the ground at any time does not seem to her to be an indication she is less than an ethical breeder. On top of it based off of private emails from her she is obviously mentally ill.

Bonney may be forced to act as her own counsel unless I can assist her in finding some one who will either pay for counsel or do this case pro bono. The woman was overheard to brag that since Bonney didn't own much she would get her 5 personal dogs (show dogs) and breed the heck out of them to get even. ( Bonney rehomed her dogs to make sure they would not be considered her only assets.
So you all know any millionaires?? How about the contact urls for talk shows maybe they could put her on ? Grants or Foundations?? Novel Fund Raiser Ideas ??

Mama is getting Parker!!

Mama will be picking up Parker on Sunday. He is an owner turn in. They adopted him six months ago and he is just not working out in their household. The family is gone all day long and Parker needs someone to give him a job, he's a very busy boy! Their nine year old samoyed is being tormented constantly by this very active fellow so mama and her director elected to take him back into rescue and find him a home that will give him the attention he needs. In the mean time me and Kadin will run his sox off!

They are heart broken that things didn't work out but mama promised them that we would find the perfect home for him.

I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I met Elmo in a Canadian animal shelter and fell in love with this handsome, sweet and goofy dog! He was a favorite with the volunteers but wasn't getting adopted because he clearly had a problem with his hind end. I promised to help him and after waiting two months was able to get him into a foster home in Western NY through the rescue group I volunteer with, Buffalo Humane: http://www.buffalohumane.org

Elmo has now been diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia. He is in pain and needs surgery but first he needs rehab to help strengthen his muscles. Woman's Lost Pug Given as Christmas Present

Help Find Scooter.

Scooter is a one year old Pug, living in Dallas with his humans Rob and Kim Velevis.

On Christmas Eve, he went out the doggie door, and slipped under the fence and disappeared.

The family scoured the neighborhood, put up fliers, checked with local shelters. They couldn't find Scooter.

A week and a half later, they received an anonymous letter postmarked Tulsa Ok. If was from a woman who found Scooter crossing the street to the dog park. Excerpts from the letter follow:

“I am writing to tell you that your little dog has a good and safe home.”

“I saw your little dog crossing the a street in to a park that is by a school. He came up right up to me, and I took him and gave him to my daughter on Christmas."

The woman, who confesses in the letter that she is a recovering alcoholic, wrote "I lost custody because of problems I had with alcohol, and I have lost everything else. I have been sober for 6 months, and I am trying to turn myself around, but I have lost everything. My little girl wanted a pug dog like your little dog (very much!)"

She enclosed $20 in the envelope.

Save these girls - desperate in Maine!

If anyone can save these girls...I know the person who temperament tested them, and I think that you can rely on this being an accurate description. If you PM me and leave an addy, I can forward the email with photos of the dogs.

Two pit bull/hound mixes are slated to be PTS before the end of this week.

Spayed females
2 yrs.
about 45-55 pounds
spayed, UTD
No DA

These dogs were left at a vet's office because their old owners were
overwhelmed with the number of dogs they had. These girls have been in
the kennel now for 9-10 months. Due to their breed the owner of the
facility has wanted to PTS them for a long time now, and I don't think
much effort has been put forth on his part to find them homes. But the
staff has fallen in love with these girls.

This is their last chance. They are set to be PTS before the end of the
week because February Vacation is coming up this weekend and they need the space for boarding dogs.
Maya, the black and white dog, looks more hound-like. She is a
sweetheart, easy going, and has a little more energy than her sister, but
she's still a pretty relaxed girl over all. When I met her she came out
into the yard and did some adorable butt-scoot zoomies, but then just
wanted to run between the humans, getting loved on.

Victoria, the brown and white dog, has a hound body but her facial
markings make her look a little more pit-like. She is a little more shy
than her sister at first, but warms up very quickly and just wants to sit
on your feet and be touched . . . and give the sweetest, gentlest little
kisses. She would be the PERFECT snuggle buddy for someone.

Neither girl reacted when introduced to another female pit mix. I did a
quick TT and both passed with flying colors. I can lean over them, touch
them all over, hug them, and they just let me, a stranger, do anything.
These girls are absolute LOVES and are highly adoptable.

If anyone can help these girls please email me and I'll get you in touch with the
shelter/vet's office they are at. Remember, this is URGENT!! These girls will be PTS before the end of the week.

Getting involved in dog transport...

I have frequently thought of getting involved in helping dogs find their forever homes. While I don't have the room to foster or the experience to help train I do feel that I could help my being part of a "dog railroad" to move dogs where they need to go.

I live just south of Minneapolis and don't mind doing the odd long drive (We often drive to Winnipeg, MB and back).

Can anyone advise me how and to whom I should offer my help, such as it is?

I know that so many of you work diligent hours and are dedicated to causes such as this. I have to admit that I'm proud to know you (even just online) and feel bad that I can't do as much as you. Perhaps this is just how I get started.

Help 4 Rescue Dogs Make It To Their New Homes

I saw this on Craigslist and just thought I would repost it here in case anyone is interested in making a donation (I am only assuming it is legit).

You can read about it at the link below...but to sum it up, four dogs en route to rescue are being held up at a boarding facility because their would-be rescuers are unable to pay the full boarding bill (which keeps adding up). They are now trying to raise funds so they can get the dogs out of boarding and on to their final destination at last.

I think that Sheba's rescue was a perfect example of how we all can use the Internet to help dogs. You may start to find me obnoxious on here, but I'm on a mission - let's try to make connections wherever we can, using our good idog vibes. Maybe if we keep an eye on this site, or even on our own dog pound, we can hook people up. Don't let a purebred die in a shelter unnoticed, and don't fail to make room for the mixed breed in the next cage by getting that purebred, or purebred mix bailed out! We can do this!!!! Maybe not every day, but enough to make a difference to one dog here and there. After all, Sheba did NOT die for Christmas.

Wolfie needs a forever home. I am fostering him. I picked him up today from a backyard where he has lived chained to a carport post for pretty much all of his short young life. He is about 11 months old and has a very friendly disposition, he is getting along with my dogs and my kids and has not shown any aggressive tendancies at all. He has been under a lot of stress today and everything is new and wonderful to him.

I am desperatley looking for a caring, loving home for a Black Lab/Mastiff Mix. This dog is extremely loving and would make a great companion for anyone. He is 6 years old and has a great disposition, and is great with kids, dogs, and anything that comes his way. He is very laid back and isn't too much work. I recently pulled him from a kill shelter in Ohio and he was then transported to me in the Chicagoland area. I am fostering a few dogs and trying to find homes for them. Please help to give this angel a new life.[] Would be more than happy to transport him in the Chicago area at no cost.
