Uploading a Photo

I've tried several times to put a pic of my Dog in the Photo Section.

It gets about halfway (the blue bar at the bottom) across the box, and it shuts off and re-cycles me back to the Text Box, without completing the Upload.

Am I trying to Upload too large of a Pic...what's the limit on those?

I'm on DialUp, could that be the problem (running about 46 KBpm).

Another Question...Do we have Personal Photo Folders, or are they all in one Folder ?

I'm still trying to understand the meaning of symbols. For example there is a thread called Horse Haven...it has a file folder with a green dot-like thing attached to it...then there is a thread called Kitty Korner...it has a file folder with red dot-like thing attached to it....wondering what the significance of the dots are....

Yellow pencils, red pencils, yellow pencils, yellow stars, green lines under Avatars...points...

Okay, so I've figured out how to add pictures to my profile, but I can't figure out how to get a main picture posted. The pic that shows up by your name when you post in the forums and stuff. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

I tried to insert a picture in an email and received the message that I had to disable the pop up blocker on this site. I checked the settings and can not find one this is not disabled. Any ideas?

I need to know how to get my real name off of here...I googled myself, my full name, and my dog.com profile came up. I don't remember ever conecting my real name to this site in any way. How is this coming up?

You know where it says "Posts you have not read" and "forum subscriptions" towards the top right of the page....? Well, there is now also a Personalise button there. Is this new or am I just a bit daft in not spotting it before? What is it meant to do? I have tried clicking on it but the only change is that "Personalise" changes to "Return to personalised view" or something.

Anyone?

At the bottom of every main subforum page is a "MORE OPTIONS" clickable. Click it and you will see some options there....if you set DATE FILTER...to "show all" or "Newer than 1 year" many "old" posts may reappear. This is a quirk of the software that you may need to check on periodically as I have noticed my options selections, don't seem to always stick, forever. It may revert to the default "Newer than 2 months".

So if a post you KNOW was there, goes missing...esp a sticky or Announcement, do check your filters.

Apologies, I know it's a pain...but I thought this bit of info might be helpful to know

I am trying to understand the dealings of this forum, I have been corrected with red ink due to being off topic, but,many times I have noticed that moderators are not red inking themselves for being off topic, is that a rule just for normal members and moderators are not applicable to this rule?

Questions. I guess the first would be why I can't get rid of my Inbox thingy showing I have 1 message when I have read them all.....

But what I really want to know is when did all the SAVED messages take a hike? I had several that I was saving for different reasons....and they are all gone except the most current. I don't do PMs a lot....so when I do have something going...its pretty much for a reason and they are all gone. They used to be there forever and are on other forums.

Is something screwed up there or am I nuts?
