He has been with me for about two weeks now. I hadn't posted him earlier but he had a bad case of diarhea the first week and off to the vet he went and I have been busy with Abby's stuff and work I didn't make time to post (I know bad me ) but here is the little bugger. He is about 6-7 weeks old and he bites! He is already litter box trained and loves to eat . He was found beside the dumpester soaking wet when he was around 4 weeks old. The janitor that found him really saved his life. He was taken to the vet this past monday and he came back positive for FIV so we will be retesting in 6 months.

Neo does, occasionally, get an overwhelming compulsion to go up and touch noses with Cairo for a second before turning around and retreating to a corner to eye him curiously...and once in a fit of kitty zoomies he flailed himself around wildly and found himself lying upside down next to Cairo's face - and you could SEE it on his face for a second in which he paused and very clearly was weighing his options... and then grabbed Cairo on each cheek with a paw (I keep his front nails trimmed short for this reason haha) and then magically Transported himself to a corner while Cairo jumped up in surprise. So I have a feeling that kind of thing will continue until they're both comfortable with each other enough to, hopefully, play. They've improved significantly in the week or so that Neo's been up here. Neo has also stopped the meowing that my roommates were so upset about. He meows now and then for seemingly fun or to get my attention (though I don't listen to him because I don't want him to get INTO that habit) or if I'm preparing his food but it's not a big deal.

And some pictures!

This first one was taken the day after I moved him in. That fox that's sitting there was unintentionally the most efficient way to get Cairo acclimated to Neo...because the moment I let Neo loose in my room he BEELINED for that fox and spent a good five minutes completely absorbed in sniffing him with absolutely zero regard for Cairo lying on my bed right there. I've got a crate set up in my closet there that has the litterbox in it and that's also where I feed him...and the door can't open any more than that so Cairo can't get in to raid his food...or poop.

And a couple from yesterday and the day before.

His eyes are strikingly beautiful. They are yellow rimmed with distinct green on the inside.
Update on Tempo--He is 21 weeks now and DH took him today for his final kitten shots and his first rabies. He had his 2nd feline leukemia vaccine too since our greenhouse cats do come in pretty often and they interact and walk on the same floors.

The vet gave him more worm medication--just for today. And, said NO, very firmly to Interceptor. DH even reminded him how much exposure he has to outside cats, still no. He told him this is nothing to worry about worms are very common in kittens. We know that, but with Willow I'm more concerned she will pick them up--probably irrational because she is on Interceptor. But, she's been thru a lot and I get very nervous with her getting sick again.

He also said next time DO NOT call the emergency vet to call him and he will take care of him--he's on call for his own patients. AWESOME! He asked DH how much to ER charged us and said, no, call me next time. He's not Willow's vet so we didn't know this.

He also said within one month to get him neutered before he starts spraying.

How do they usually do with that? Should I take more than a day out of work??

He weighed six lbs.

The vaccines wiped him out right away. But, he's starting to perk back up tonight.

He had said if there was any pain to give 2 drops of baby Tylenol. Tylenol??? I thought they couldn't have that?? Or is that just dogs?

Thanks for reading about Tempo and thanks again for helping him!

Last week Peaches decided to lay right in the middle of the doorway and of course she wouldn't move so I had to step over her. She layed in this spot all the time, only moving to potty or eat. The week before she decided that the top of the kitchen cabinets was the place to be. This week its by the toilet, she was laying directly in front, but I forced her to the side.
At home we have to keep Willow and he separate which is a bit of work but it's worth it. He eats well, some dry but mostly canned and fresh meat that we add in. My greenhouse cats come in and out daily and they are very good about setting boundaries and also playing rough and wrestling with him. He's a good boy, very gentle with people and submissive to the big cats and even Willow when he sees her. He just wants to play and everything is a toy! He likes to lay in the windows and look outside at the greenhouse cats and whatever else is going on out there. He also likes the tile near our fireplace a lot too.

Today we took him to the vet for another check and he had another distemper and also feline leukemia. We have four outside cats that come and go and the vet felt that it was necessary.

He's about 20 weeks. He's getting his adult teeth. He's eating well, he's 6 lbs! The vet said he's going to be a big guy. And, I believe it, his dad was really big! His heart sounds good.

Here he is. He's my first kitten/inside cat ever.

Don't get me wrong they are on kitten food but my question is... I have to get them into the shelter to be spayed and neutered. One female is ready to go but I don't want to send her by herself so I'm waiting for the 2nd female to hit the 2lb mark. I want to get mom in too but they say I can't do that untill shes dry and aslong as she willingly feeds the babies she won't be dry. They said to keep them off her for 2 weeks. When I do that, they cry for eachother and she cleans them through the crate and it makes me feel bad!

Heres the question part : If I was to keep them seperated all feelings aside is it healthy for mom? it's my understanding that if she dosent feed then she'll continue to get milk and become sore. to keep them apart or to not keep them apart (For the 2 weeks) that is the question.

Moose the cat's Gotcha Day!
