  IMHA Reply Contact Tootie is a very sweet dog who unfortunately has been hospitalized this week with IMHA. I am so sick with worry and don't know which way to turn. After two days in the hospital he has had 1 transfusion and this morning his RBC was 28 initially but now has dropped down to 22. I am trying to do all that I can to save him. I will know more tomorrow. Tootie is my granddaughters dog but he lived with me for the last 11 months. I took him tp New York to visit her and in a liitle over a week he came down with this. I am currently in Illinois and want to go get him so that I can ensure he gets the care he deserves. His spirits are very high and the vet says he is very active.

  Re: IMHA Reply Contact You've come to the right place to get some information and support -- there is an ENORMOUS thread (like over 70 pages now) that's only been running since Christmas -- just with bunches of folks dealing with this. My Billy  (yep, in my pic) is an IMHA survivor -- it's a horrible disease, and very difficult sometimes to get them to respond.  I will email you my phone -- my husband and I try to be available to folks to help with information and support and just to answer some of the billion questions you have.  My Billy had six transfusions in a month -- it can take a while to get the drugs to kick in and get the body to "lay off" itself.
