    Re: Run free Maggie

Oh, Tina -- I'm just seeing this thread now . . . . I'm on the west coast, so I missed the time this morning, but I'm thinking of Maggie now with tears in my eyes.  I'm sorry she didn't have more time to benefit from your love and the care you were giving her, but I'm so glad she had the few days she did have with you.  Maybe she didn't last as long as you'd hoped after she left the shelter because once she found herself in a safe and comfortable place, she felt ready to let go of her fight.  We're all so grateful to you for having the courage and the compassion to take her into your home and heart.  It's wonderful that she heard a kind voice and felt gentle hands in her final days and hours.

I always ask Tonka to watch for special animals that arrive at the Bridge, and Maggie is definitely special.  He has lots of extra love to share, so he'll make sure she continues to experience only kindness now that you've brought it to her after whatever rejection she face earlier.  I'm sure your heart is heavy, even if you do recognize the good that you did.  Take care.

Maggie, you're pain free and breathing easily now --- you're in the hearts of dozens who never even met you!

Edited to add that I'm also glad that her remains will be with you, too.  That means she left a home and family behind that will remember and miss her.  I can't explain what I mean . . . I'm just happy you're keeping them.

Tracy, I know exactly what you mean, which is why I requested an individual cremation.

Jackie, again, thank you for your earlier offer.

Man, I'm just seeing this now.  Thank you, Tina for making sure that Maggie knew love before she crossed.  I know you did this totally for her & that makes it so amazingly wonderful.  She KNEW that she was something special.  She knew a comfey place to lay her old body down & she knew warmth.  ((TINA))

     Run free, Maggie!

It must have been wonderful for Maggie to be so loved her last week.  She went to the Bridge comfortable and loved because of you, Tina.

    Re: Run free Maggie

Tina - I'm way late seeing this thread. When I saw Maggie's name on the active posts thread, I really hoped it wasn't your Maggie. I'm so very sorry that your time together was so short but so thankful that she had a few days of love and care from you at the end.

    Run free Maggie.
