small white bump on my dogs face

Dublin has this hard white shiny bump about the size of a pin head or a bit larger lower down from his eye area on the side of his face.  He also has one on the darker part of his skin between the nose and mouth.  That one is really smaller than a pin head.  Anyway I was worried sick and took him in to the vet.  She was so flip about it and shrugged it off saying we can keep an eye on it and said it is like skin tags or benign papillomas.  She said if they grow larger he would need surgery to remove them.  He isnt even two yet and I am sick about scars and surgery and the cost and and and........

I asked if it could be doggie warts since that was going around the dog park in the fall and she said no.  Anyone want to share some insight this please?

Re: small white bump on my dogs face

I've noticed the same thing on Zoe.  She had one on her upper lip, one on her front paw and then another one on the lower lip.  The one on the upper lip got irritated somehow a while back and blew up into a large cyst - pimple thing which eventually popped and went away, but the other 2 are still there.  It is exactly as you described, hard white shiny bumps slightly larger than a pin head.  I don't know what they are but she's had them for over a year now and they haven't affected her in any way.

Zoe - 3 year old chocolate and tan miniature dachshund

Zack - 1 year old toy manchester terrier

Ally - 10 year old black and white domestic shorthair cat
