Well, I thought I'd give some of you an update on otto and ollie's comings and goings since we have been MIA for a bit. Everyone is doing well, Ollie just got his year boosters and the vet told him he was fat. She followed these two things by collecting a stool sample so he is not to happy with her (our regular vet is on maternity leave). He has to loose the one whole pound he gained because his grandma spoiled him while he stayed with her for two weeks when I was at two conferences lol. He acts like he is dying of starvation everyday. Oh and Oliver ate the macbook cord which gave me a great excuse to buy a new macbook. Good boy ollie! Otto is his same perfect self ;) We sorta have a new member of the family. A little raggety chi mix showed up at my parents house covered with fleas and freezing. My brother caught him, brought him inside and cleaned him up. He is cute as a button and perfectly housetrained. He even does a few tricks. He clearly is someone's pet so we put up fliers and posted an add it the paper. No one has claimed him and he does not have a microchip. After three weeks my mom is completely in love with him and we have decided to keep him and his name is Barkley. I still feel really bad because I'm sure he was a loved pet, but I'm glad he has brought so much happiness to my mom. He really seems to come to life when otto and ollie go over to visit. For me personally I'm just enjoying my chief year. It's been ridiculously fun and I've logged about 300 cases already this year. I have just about six months until I leave the wonderful field of general surgery and move on to plastic surgery ;) Anyway, hope the holidays are wonderful for you all.
