I wonder how well park patrons would take to a volunteer goverening play. I hope some wacko's dont take it upon themselves to start regualting the dog park.
I think that's why the county is setting up the committee, to try to come up with solutions that won't make things worse. If idiot parents are fighting with seniors (and it has gotten physical, shoving, yelling, etc.) I worry about those same seniors being harmed as a volunteer. But, if they have the backing of park officials and the police, rather than just being another patron mouthing off, maybe that would make the message more "official" if you will.

ETA: The people and community wouldnt need so much supervision if they learned to behave and use common sense. I dont understand why its so hard for peole to understand that
Exactly! What's so frustrating is that parents will ask if their child can approach and pet your dog outside the fence, but inside, all bets are off. I think it is a matter of education in some cases, but when parents ignore warnings that their child could be hurt and then get physical with the warner??? And this wasn't just a one off, apparently, it's been happening more and more, with male parents who resent being told anything!
It's particularly important here in VA with our dangerous dog statutes. One bad incident and a dog could end up with harsh restrictions and the owner strapped with very expensive requirements to keep the dog, including kennels, muzzles, and 100K insurance policies. That's why I stopped going and if I see a child approach, we leave. With Woobie's fear, I'm just not taking the chance.
