huskymom: Hmmm... I'm talking about the bike trailers that kids ride in. They attach to the frame of the bike and you don't even need to use a kickstand when the trailer is attached because the trailer has 2 big wheels, turning the bike into something akin to a trike, but with an extra wheel. When i ride with my dogs, I attach them to the stem of my seat. It centers the gravity better I find and neither of them pull too badly. Still, you may be right.
i was just saying that since the trailer isn't actually part of the bicycle structure it's not as stable as a long tail bicycle like the xtracycle. but a trailer is an excellent option if you dont want an xtracycle. I used one before i got my X. I think it would encourage the dog not to get behind the bike. I would just worry about if they darted between the trailer & the bicycle.
this is from a website talking about longtail bicycles 'Compared to bike trailers and panniers, longtail bikes have easier handling and lower centres of gravity.'

I've read that they even make the swingarms on motorcycles longerr to improve stability.
whatever you choose..just get out there with your pup!! running alongside or in the kiddie trailer, it's all fun & good times.
