Reply Contact dopes with large dogs often think there's a Dane in the background.  There may be here, but I agree with Gina - very mutt/mix.   Re: Black and Tan Great Dane? Reply Contact I feel that it's a mix too, although I will admit that the dog shows a strong resemblance of a Dane in the first of the two pic's. I know there are some backyard Dane breeders who are purposely breeding blacks to fawns, fawns to harles and even brindles to harles or blacks which is against the Code of Ethics, and plays havoc on the breed.  In Memory of: Cleo (1994-1999) & Dacota (1995-1999) "Great dogs in every sense of the word".
