I love the camera that turns on when you are backing up...it definitely comes in handy because I have been known to back into things Surprise

I have the camera on my car too but forget to look at it when backing up. I almost nailed a huge pregnant woman walking behind me the other day. Embarrassed

I have a 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I love. I just wish the window motors would stop breaking. They're not cheap to replace.

Then I have an 07 Dodge Durango. I love it. Too bad gas prices are so high.

Can I have my 4000-something posts back? Pretty please?

They have cars with cameras???  Wow!  I probably wouldn't  remember to use it either.  I'm doing good to remember to use the mirrors.

I'll try and take a pic of it, if i can remember. Nothing special, but i really like it. It's a bright red 1999 dodge dakota, with extended cab.

I'm starting to look for new cars now though. I originally really wanted an SUV, but with the gas prices, i think i'll be a little more frugal. I'm thinking maybe a corolla or civic...POSSIBLY an escape hybrid. OOH, and i love that new VW...i think it's called a tiguan.

I am sure most of you remember three months back when I FINALLY got my new baby: an '06 Chrysler 300C. If you go to my Flickr account (I am npllori) and check it out, you will see many pics posted there.  It's silver with a cream leather interior. Yes, it has a Hemi-- the 5.7L one (the "little"oneWink) and cruises like a dream. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, loves these big beasts.  I have had people from 16 to 96 ask about it.

Re: What kind of car do you drive? Share pics of your "other babies!"

My first love was my '94 Volvo 940, sedan. I named her the Jolly Green Giant, or GiGi for short. I loved her. Love, love, love, loved it. It was a marvelous first car. It was with me though lots of adventures, I hit lots of stuff and never cared...sigh. I miss it. Unfortunately it had no A/C, the radiator leaked coolant (so I drove around with a few gallons of water) it had a mysterious main seal oil leak that I could never seem to fix, and the speedometer/odometer died at I think 180,000 miles? The windshield wipers broke too, LOL. In Florida. Also, it had 2/4 hubcaps. I don't think 2/4 is bad!

When I moved 100 miles, round trip, from my mom's, my sugar granny decided I needed something more 'reliable'. I sold GiGi (I cried when the guy drove it away, with $600 in my hand) and we bought the white Volvo, which has forever been known as 'the white car'. I don't **LOVE** it, but it will do. It has nice leather seats and a sunroof. It gets good gas mileage, however, it has a special oil filter and oil changes are $50. LOL.

I reeeeeally want a Volvo station wagon. Or an XC90. I think a brand new XC90 is about a baskillion dollars so I can keep dreaming.

Ugh, I HATE our car.  It's a 2002 Mercury Sable.
Lol, I have your car's sibling, a 2002 Ford Taurus (gold).  I don't necessarily hate my car, but it's also not the coolest ride on the expressway. Stick out tongue

DH's car is a 1998 Jetta, which is still in amazing shape for being 10 years old!  We're lucky because both cars are completely paid off, but I will admit to becoming antsy about getting a new car.  I really like the Saturn Vue Hybrid, if you can believe it.  I never thought I would geek over Saturn, but I fell in love with it at the auto show this year.

I didn't expect to get a Vibe, either. I had been looking at Chevy Envoy, mini-van sort of things. BIL has a Honda Odyssey and that's a pretty neat vehicle. But I wasn't looking so much for a particular make or model as I had a list of requirements for a new vehicle. I told the salesperson I was needing something that can seat 4 adults comfortably and some luggage and that would sip gas like a fine scotch. She asked, "Have you ever thought about the Vibe?" I said, "not until now. I, at 6' 6", can sit in every seat. MIL is DW's height of 5' 5 1/2" and FIL is a about 6' 2".

The car is very affordable, my credit with GMAC was stellar from the truck I bought in 1996, which I traded in for this car. In fact, the day I bought the car, it was about 15 percent interest. They called me back the next day and told they could lower the interest to 10.4 %. So, I went up and re-signed the papers at 10.4. It takes about 20 to 22 dollars to fill up half a tank and gets between 31 and 33 mpg at highway speed, which is most of my driving. So, it takes me a gallon of gas to get to work. Sweet.

     I drive a '95 Ford Aerostar Minivan

    And this is why

The crates have been rearranged since this photo - the large behind the driver's seat, then four stacked intermediates.  Works fine - and I can fit up to SEVEN total crates in there when I feel industrious.  Yeah, OK, so I don't get many cool points in the real world, but in the dog world I'm rocking right along.  lol  Yes, I drive this thing everywhere - crates and all.

I really do like it. Now, I get the gas mileage that I have because it's a standard transmission. You'll lose a few mpg if you get an automatic. But it handled great during our snow blizzards in March. It's a front wheel drive and I could control how much clutch is engaging. The front seats recline. The passenger seat folds down. When Shadow is in the back seat, I can fold down the passenger seat and have a table to rest his water bowl on after a walk while I get the excellent air conditioning going. The back seats fold down. It has rails on top to put on a luggage carrier, which I aim to get. When we travel with the in-laws, they don't carry much but DW will have two or three pieces. And the factory radio/cd player is jammin'. On mine, the rear glass can flip up and the whole back end flips up. The new models have a stationary back glass but the back end still flips up. Automatics have a shifter plate that reminds me of a Ferrari. The platform is similar to a Toyota Matrix. In fact, my car has a Toyota motor in it. A 1.8 Litre L4. I like the way it handles. Pontiac has about 3 or 4 cars with a similar frame and motor, including the G5 which is a sporty little thing and, if you're not careful, possibly a ticket magnet. Anyway, having a dog and sometimes need to carry more than just my tools, I wanted something that was flexible in its utility. The bucket seats are comfortable and you can adjust seat height and tilt. In my car, there is a resting plate to set your clutch foot on when driving so that you don't ride the clutch pedal.

I like the car and I may just buy another one after this is paid off. That's another thing I have learned. Don't wait 12 years to trade something in. Trade it in when you've still got 3 or 4 grand of trade-in value. That will knock a chunk off your note.
