She's coming along so GREAT!  And her 'fat top' is funny.  You can just tell her it was from her 'punk rock' stage :o)

She's got some major peach fuzz going on there on top of her head - cute!  Looking good!

If that face wouldn't melt even the coldest heart, I don't know what would.  I guess I'd forgotten how old you said she was; she's just a baby!  But that baby is an adorable mess of peach-fuzzed pug.that's going to the best home she could ever possibly dream of.  There's a special place in heaven for people like you and David, right alongside all those babies that have passed before you. Punker stage is right -- and just wait til I do the "Blue Power Ear" stuff on her and she and Billy have matching purple ear flaps.... Ain't she just gonna be "all tha THANG????"????

They gave her a rabies shot last Monday -- so she'll blow out again with more demodex any day now (and they're only suppressing it with the ivermectin).

She's gonna get spayed Tuesday (the 9th), so it will be a long haul, but I'm really thinking positively.  We know *for sure* three things that are likely current triggers -- she's improved SO MUCH since I got them to keep her off St. Augustine sod (the contact allergy was one of the biggies at the bottom of everything).  Add the ear infection, and the fact that she's "maturing" early -- and let's hope that's the biggest part of it.

Muffin was 18 months old when we got him (and in almost as bad shape) but by that age the immune system is SO set in 'rock' that it's hard to make real headway (altho we did -- we SOOOOOO did!) but getting one younger is kind of exciting just to think how good she's gonna get.  (hoping, hoping, hoping)

I'm getting excited -- it's the 2d.  A day and a half before we leave!  whooooooo hooooooooooooo

Oh Poo...I've been avoiding this thread for the past 2 days, not because I really didn't want to read it, but because I've been so busy and then I come back to a 6 page thread, it seemed like alot of reading.  I'm glad I sucked it up tonight though.  I haven't seen the other thread, but I think I'll go looking for it tomorrow.

Callie, once again, my hat is off to you.  You and David are wonderful people.  The Pug Formerly Known as Lulu has found her Angels for sure.  I have a feeling that your reception at the Bridge(in the far far away future of course) will go down in the books!

Now, do you suppose your socky boots would work for sled dogs?  You have to buy them in 4's so when a dog blows one of them on a run....well it gets costly.

I would think it would be far better than nothing -- and you CAN layer them easily.  But it would sure enough be EASY to slip them in your pocket so you could replace a missing boot with SOMETHING so that one foot isnt' a big distraction.

I vowed I was going to log in more often just to check on this thread, but I've had a "cyclone schedule" the past week or so.  I cannot believe how much better she looks in the more recent photos compared to the first couple you posted!  And that face is one of the cutest little things I've ever seen.  You can see her happy heart in that pic with the blue bone.  Love the peach fuzz on the top of her head, too!

Just to confirm what everyone else has said -- Callie, you come up with the most amazing ideas and solutions.  Seriously, you should write a manual or a news column.  Instead of "Hints from Heloise," it could be "Canine Clues from Callie."

I love all the name ideas so far - I know you'll choose something suitable for her - a sweet, resilient, lucky little sweetie like her deserves a really special name that sums up her personality and situation somehow.  Can't wait to hear what you decide and to see MORE PHOTOS!!!!

If somebuddy wants to volunteer to let me email them pics from my camera phone and then put them up for us, it would get you pics faster than me getting home and peeling them off the 'puter!  David always intends to take the OQO but ... sometimes --- either he's got it and he's ON It or he didn't get it packed.  (tiny little, but effective portable computer)

No clue how good they'll be but will be fun!! LOL

Oh Callie, I love the doo!   She is so darling and that blue bone is almost as big as she is.   She looks like she is saying "Hi Mommy looky at me!  I got me a big blue bone!"   I am so excited I cant wait til you get there and we get the play by play of the ride home.   I will be out of the office til Monday but you better bet I am gonna get on line at home this weekend.  (Something I almost never do)  I cant wait til Monday!

ok, based on her little punk rock look going on, I'm gonna throw out:

    Joan (Jett)

    Chrissie (Hynde)

    Debbie (Harry)

just for laughs anyway.  I'm anxious for you to get on the road, too!

Oh I'm just cracking up here -- This nice little old lady tools down I-4 with my stereo cranked LOUD with Joan Jett almost every day -- "I Love Rock 'N Roll"

So I read this aloud and David said 'Soooo what about Joanie Rotten??"

OK Megan -- I'm gonna put your email in my cell right now!!

Yep -- we'll have fun 'reporting' along the way.

Oh, another vote for Joan Jett!  You could call her JJ or Jayjay.

There is a world of difference between treating demodex in a youngster, and in a mature dog.  There is great hope that you'll have it cleared up, not only soon, but forever - and all the secondary stuff too.
