The car will get fixed. Roughly $8500 worth of damage.

Youngest DS called yesterday to let his dad know that he was at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor waiting to see an oral surgeon.  I didn't get the full story, because he hadn't shared it, until my ex called at almost 11PM.  DS had a tooth that was abcessed, so he called his dentist up here for antibiotics which worked for a couple days and then the situation got worse.  No word to Mom of course.......so he went to the dentist yesterday to have the tooth pulled and the dentist immediately sent him to Ann Arbor.  Ex called last night to let me know that they had taken him into emergency surgery.  Needless to say, it had to be serious for the ex to speak to me......when I finally reached him this morning, DS had FIVE teeth surgically removed on the lower right jaw, and a huge pocket of puss had to be drained.  He'll be on heavy duty antibiotics for several days, and they are supposed to release him later today.  Thank God he's ok, but good heavens.  What else?

    Glenda,

I think we all need to send good vibes and every lucky piece of clothing, rabbits foot, 4 leaf clover, lucky coin or whatever else we can spare!

Any word on a job for the DH?

That'll be enough of the bad luck. Your luck is supposed to turn around. So, quit having bad luck. It's just that easy.Wink

Take your pics and give them to your insurance company. They can go into what's secondary arbitration. I was t-boned in 1994 and the cop said I failed to yield right of way. I was turn left. The light was yellow going to red and a small truck came around their far right lane doing about 15 mph over the speed limit. My insurance company held arbitration and only honored 60 percent of the claim from the guy that hit me. It is completely possible to get hit by someone who was not visibly there before. People are insane behind the wheel. The cop had told me that, to avoid that problem the next time, wait until the light actually turns red, then clear the intersection. Your situation is a lot like what happened to my MIL last year. She was turning from one little highway on to another. There was nothing visible for an 1/8 to a 1/4 mile one way and about 300 yards the other way. She pulled out, a Ford Expedition came flying over the hill at mach 1 and t-boned her. And the accident was ruled MIL's fault because she failed to yield right of way. Never mind that the other person was doing about 80 in a 65. That is, there is no reasonable way to expect that traffic will be clear because of how fast people drive. And the cop has to rule on right of way. Her car was an insurance total so the insurance company gave them some money for another car.

DS will be okay. You will be okay.

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

OK, DS was released today, not yesterday as planned.  They wanted to be sure that they had gotten all the infection.  There is a 5mm hole left in his chin for the drain, so not sure if they removed the drain before he went home or not.  Oldest DS called me to let me know,  youngest DS was on his way home and will call me tonight.

Ron, for crying out loud, I'm TRYING to quit having bad luck........and, by the way, haven't seen your MS Walk donation this year....just saying.....

No word from the interview job, but on Friday Todd did have an hour long conference call that seemed to go well for another job.

I am disputing the ticket, and I've got the pictures for the magistrate.  If I beat the ticket, then this being a no fault state, my insurance will not go up one penny, and IF this gal was thinking she could get a newer car, I won't be funding it through my insurance......

*sigh*  Glenda, I don't know why good luck is having such a hard time finding you.  Clearly it should just ask bad luck for directions.  Fingers and all still crossed for you.  One of these days I'm going to open this thread and find out we're having a "Glenda's-DH-Got-A-Job" party.  It's coming.  That conference call sounded promising, hopefully something pans out soon.

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

Well Glenda its all in how you look at it.  Is the glass half full or half emply.. eeh?

Maybe we can turn the vibes around if we think,

    1.  Your car got T-boned BUT you didn't get hurt!  And it will get fixed.

    2.  Your poor DS ended up in the hospital with an infection that could have turned really bad and INSTEAD he is coming home today.

    3.  You DH had a wonderful interview and we are hoping it will carry forward to an offer.

    4.  You had a problem at the camp ground, but now your sharing time with a friend who seems glad to have you.  And from what you said, the living arrangement are more suitable - so that's a good thing, right?

I know you probably want to boop me on the head but I am just thinking that if we can look at these setbacks in some kind of possitive fashion it will brighten up, maybe things will start snow balling happily and flourishing.

I don't know, just trying to lift the gray cloud for ya. Wink

LOL!  You sound like ME always trying to find the blasted silver lining!  Sooner or later (please sooner) crap will stop happening and life will get a whole lot better for us.

Ummmm, could you specify that the break should NOT be in the form of a bone or my somewhat shakey spirit?
