dyan:. I DO feel a little guilty about Bubblegum..but I know it is because of her that we need a dog here..she was such a wonderful friend.
Feeling guilty is understandable, but it's natural for people like us who love dogs to want another one when we lose our dear, dear friend. I know you loved (and still do) Bubby for her personality; the things she did that made you smile, the special traits that Danes have, but you also loved her because she was a dog. Dogs make our lives so much more enjoyable because of their unconditional love and companionship, and also because they never really grow up; Jessie will be 10 in a few months and she still loves to play with her toys, try to burrow after chipmunks, ect. I think having them around keeps us young at heart and once we have a dog we can't imagine living without one. Please don't feel guilty; I'm sure Bubby's delighted that you have another dog to help fill the hole in your heart that she left. And how about some more pictures!
Life isn't about waiting through the storm; it's about learning to dance in the rain.
